The dismay after having lost an entire outlook database can be distressing. This happened today.
Luckily, i rely on sending email duplicates to Gmail or Cloud.
What is beyond belief is how MS and Apple can't manage to organize (or perhaps agree) where these silly olk14_message file reside in the directory.
These files are astoundingly critical and important and that they live in folders readily accessible by a user requires a rethink.
These olk14_message files need to be locked back into the directory where they are inaccessible and difficult to access, if they are so important !!
It is way too easy to delete or move the olk14_message files within the current protocol of the product file location. A protocol where the consumer who purchased the product has no control.
Microsoft or Apple should bang their heads together and protect the customer's use of the Office for Mac Outlook product. And relying on externals like Time Machine is a cop out!
I will no longer use Outlook for Mac in its current state
Microsoft - design your product properly!
