I'm interested in trying the Beta version of Windows 8.1, but was concerned when I read that sky drive is more fully integrated into 8.1 and that files are automatically saved to the SkyDrive.  As a photographer, saving lots of RAW image files would quickly use up all my space.  I'm also concerned about the possibility of my metadata being changed and my modification dates. 

What does "more fully integrated' entail and can I easily switch the default from SkyDrive to my local directories?  How would I do this?  If i switch to 8.1, would any of my files that are currently stored locally switch to being stored on SkyDrive?
