I have sent emails to a lot of people but they tell me they never received them,so why aren’t they receiving the emails?

Lately I have sent emails to people but they tell me that they never received them,I can;t understand why they never got them.
I was told that if you send it to a gmail account that they block a lot of emails.
Can anyone answer my problem?
