I was moving 486 email messages from the WLM inbox to a mailbox subfolder when an error message appeared, and I hit cancel. Now here is the glitch.  All 486 emails were moved from the inbox to the subfolder.  Windows Live Mail displays all the messages in the subfolder. I can open each message in the subfolder.  However, when I try to use a third party email address extraction tool on the subfolder it does not see any of the email messages.  So I used the WLM export tool to move the messages from the mailbox subfolder, and the tool runs, but the destination folder only shows five of the 485 messages.  So then using Windows explorer I tried to copy the eml files in the mailbox subfolder, but no eml files are visible in the mailbox subfolder directory. Then I tried to move the 486 email messages back to the inbox.  And WLM moved them back.  The appeared in the inbox correctly.  I could open them in WLM. However, when I move them back to mailbox subfolder, I still can't export them, see them in Windows Explorer or use my third party extraction tool.

So my question is there a way to force WLM to reindex the messages, or re-synch the messages or do something.  Apparently something happened when the I moved the files for the first time, and now outside of WML they are just ghost files.  And yes, I have "show hidden files turned on for the folder."

I hate to lose access to this messages as they are all customer messages and I need to extract their email addresses in order to communicate with them.  So is there a way to extract email addresses in WLM, or is there a way to fix this mailbox subfolder so the messages can be exported?

Any help would be appreciated.
