I have changed my password several times but after a while it does not work any more and I keep getting the odd junk mail from one of my contacts

I dont understand why my password does not work after a few days/weeks.  I have noticed every few days I get a junk email from one of my contacts.
Can anyone help as I am unable to use my account properly at the moment?
