Whenever we are editing something that flows, such as audio or video, it's a great advantage to be able to set a mark at the beginning of a section and another at the end of the section. These might be potential Split points, but I haven't decided yet the exact positions for these cuts. Good programs then provide shortcut keys such as < and > for jumping to the previous and next marks respectively.

Then a great advance becomes possible: "Play Between marks"

In other words, wherever the current frame line is, whenever I do the shortcut for this (eg. CTRL+B), an extra invisible pointer would move to the closest mark before the current frame, and play to the next mark after the current frame. That way I could see and hear if I have the marks in the right places for my cuts. The free audio editing program, Audacity, provides these functions, and they make it very easy to get the cut points right.

This one suggestion would improve the value of WMM a great deal for me.

Do you know any free video editors that do provide these functions?
