I have read the posts pertaining to logging in as an administrator in windows 8.  The question has not been directly addressed.  I have followed the links provided, only to learn that I have a user account, not an administrator account.  I am using a brand new out of the box HP laptop, and I am attempting to install windows essentials 2012, so that I can take advantage of movie maker. Unless I install as an administrator, I cannot install this program.

It would be most helpful and most appreciated to learn the step by step method of how to log in as an administrator for the purpose listed above.
