Have been unable to successfully import Outlook 2013 contacts into Outlook 2011 for Mac. I have tried the export/import route for both PST as well as CSV files but loose a lot of fields in the process. I note that the file layout (fields) are quite different in the two programs but have been unable to find anything about field lengths for the files. And, if you wonder, my Outlook 2013 PST file is in Unicode file format and the overall filesize is about 1.9gb. Not sure how large the contact component is but it contains 490 addresses, far too many to do a manual re-entry.
Was really surprised that Microsoft does not maintain continuity between program versions of the two files. Even many of the field names are different as well has not even having a similar match such as mileage vs bloodtype or title vs first name.
Am actually considering returning the MacBook Pro because of these incompatibilities.
I realize I can try to do a best match on the fields as they are being imported but without knowledge of field size and field type, it seems it would be impossible to fix this problem. Would appreciate any insights from those with more knowledge of Outlook that I.
Thanks
