Recently, the email service provided by my ISP has been changed so that emails that the service believes are spam are automatically directed to the spam folder instead of the Inbox. It used to be possible to get all emails sent to the Inbox, but now some of my emails are in the spam folder on the mail server. This presents a problem for my email client (Windows Live Mail).

I normally access my emails from my desktop machine, but sometimes I use Windows Live Mail on my laptop to preview new emails before I get a chance to download them onto my desktop, where I store them. I have tried using IMAP, but emails fetched to my laptop are marked as read on the server, so they do not get fetched to my desktop when I subsequently try to fetch them on that machine. To solve this issue, I use POP3, which does not mark the emails as read on the server.

The problem is the emails with the ISP's email server has decided are spam and put into the server's spam folder. POP3 does not normally fetch emails from the spam folder. The ISP does not admit to a way of disabling their new spam filter. Is there a way of getting POP3 to download emails from folders other than the Inbox?

Any advice will be welcome.
