I am on Win 7  Movie Maker does not work.  I like the program.  However when I split a clip the left side shows the video material but on the right side it is black with a green square at the beginning then the rest is all black (no video).

I have used the program "Windows movie Maker" in the past and love it.  It does all that I want to do.  But now

I had it downloaded by a computer company because the old version disappeared and they don't know why it does not work.

HELP
