I found WLM was still on my desktop taskbar after upgrade to Win 10 from Win 8.1 and that only 3 of the 4 accounts worked fine. One (Hotmail) would not connect/synch to the server. Running the Googled Windows patch fix for it didn't work either.

Nor would this account synch correctly to W10 Mail app.

3 accounts are Hotmail.co.uk and one is an IMAP account.

The IMAP account has imported strangely to W10 Mail but having nested Inboxes - odd.

Even more strange is that all account work fine on 2 iPads and send / receive without problems, so it is just this W10 machine that is troublesome.
