(I've tried reviewing similar posts but I can't find anyone with the exact same issue. And I really am fed up with hotmail.

It truly should not be this hard to set up a mac mail account when all others work so seamlessly.)

In trying to reset my hotmail account up (which worked for years but finally would not at any cost. I was advised to delete and reset it)

I have followed all the prompts, step by step video about the incoming and outgoing servers. I've used 993 as the port and SSL. It still won't take. I've also tried other combinations of this but it still won't take.

It continues to announce 'more information needed' but not what, or where or how to....

Please can someone start from the very beginning and list these step by step, anticipating all the possible problems we may run into.
