Hotmail account not working on ipad using built in mail app works in safari ok

Hi
I can log into my hotmail account everywhere EXCEPT on my ipad3 it has been working perfectly for months and months, then suddenly today i get server errors and wrong password....the password IS CORRECT  as i can log in on safari on my ipad i just cant use the built in mail app......help me please
