I woke up this morning to discover a notification on my phone stating my hotmail account server password had changed.  I have tried logging in by phone and PC with no success.  When I try to reset the password I am told the account does not exist.

I have created this Outlook account using the same user name and password, hoping that my important saved emails would have been transferred across but this has not happened.

Any ideas as to the cause of this problem and how I can retrieve my lost emails?  My password was very strong so I do not think I have been hacked.
