I can no longer access my Hotmail account so i'm currently signed into an alternative account.
My account was hacked and my password changed. The hacker then used my account as part of a scam to obtain money from my contacts.
As soon as I realised what was happening I attempted to change my password but then discovered that the hacker had also got into my alternative Hotmail account, and changed the password there as well. I was therefore unable to get at the code to reset my password. Stupidly I had not updated my telephone number so I couldn't go down that route.
Incidentally the hacker had also added his (or her) email address to my alternative email list. In that way he obtained the reset code as well as me.
I therefore opted for customer support and provided an alternative email address, and as much account and hotmail information as possible, for example, the details of who I have recently sent emails to, what were the subject lines and the names of any folders in my hotmail account. I have tried to provide the information as best as I can remember, on three occasions now, and, on the first two, received emails to say the following, “we were unable to verify your ownership of this account using the information you provided” and “Please submit a new account verification form”.
On the third occasion I very carefully provided all the required information (which included the answer to my secret question) but I received an email saying too many attempts had been made to obtain the password code and that I would have to open a new account.
Opening a new account is easy enough but I urgently need my contact list and folders.
I urgently need to have my hotmail account back working. Can anyone help me please!
