Hello,

can you help please.

Our fairly new desktop PC has all sorts of things going on and my problem is to do with uploading photos and videos from our camera.

Today I have installed Windows Essentials 2012 (Photo Gallery) and I think this is all we want, I don't want to go onto something else and find photos or videos that we have imported.

Window 8.1

64 bi

HP Pavilion 23

We got Cyberlink somehow when we first got this PC, so all our photos off the camera have been imported to this (don't know how, perhaps we had it as a default), but we don't find this very good for adjusting photos like the Picasa we had, or even Microsoft Picture Manager - the finer details.

We were watching DVD's on Cyberlink, but do we need this?

At present I can find the same photos on Cyberlink, Photos Gallery, Microsoft Picture Manager (this came off our old laptop as we brought through Microsoft Office 2007 onto the new one...do we really need this), Windows Media Player.  Also there is an app Snapshot Photos (which is dormant app).

Problem is...Cyberlink only has a choice to "delete from disk" > then it asks, "Are you sure you want to delete this file from your hard drive?"

So I tried one, and sure enough, go to Picture Manager and it is deleted off there.  I guess if I had have gone to Photo Gallery, it would have also been deleted from there as it seems that Cyberlink is the one that the computer has determined to be the main holder?????

How do I delete photos from everything except Photo Gallery?  I only want to go to one place.

I realise that somehow the photos have to be stored somewhere that is not the third party so to speak if this is how you would term it.

Thanks, your help is appreciated
