I would like to use Windows Movie Maker 2012 to edit an ACVHD (.mts) format movie file.  This is a brand new download of Windows Movie Maker, running on Windows 7 on my laptop.

1.  Is there a set of instructions of how to use the program?  I last edited a movie in another brand of software about 6 years ago.  All of the tutorials online show windows live movie maker (the previous version).

2.  I can import the clip (downloaded from my camera to disc separately).  The clip shows up on the right side of the screen, shows a thumbnail, plays in the box on the left with sound but without any picture (stays black).  Sound matches the recording on the camera.

3.  The movie clip will play on Windows media player with both sound and picture.

Thanks,

Jim
