I've just installed Movie Maker 2012 from the Microsoft host site itself. It installed without a hitch, but when I open it to make a video of any kind, I'm confronted with this:

When I load a clip or picture into the program and preview it, the window flashes in a rapidly repeating black-white pattern until the preview finishes, at which the window goes back to its black screen state. 

My computer specs are: 

Intel i7 4700MQ 
8 GB DDR3 RAM 
Nvidia Geforce GT 750m SLI with driver 335.23 
Windows 8 

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: The weird background color is there because I copied the text from a different forum I posted on.
