My laptop had an OS issue so I needed to back up all my files, restore to factory, then reload everything.  I used the simple instructions from the Microsoft website for exporting/importing email and contacts.  I put both my contacts and messages on a thumb drive and everything went very smoothly (I thought).  But now, I imported the contacts just fine, but the messages are totally missing.

I've read lots of other people's questions, so I'll say a bit more.  I am receiving new email just fine.  I had about 20 sub-folders under the Storage Folder and the sub-folders do not show at all and all of the messages in all of those folders are missing.  I have opened every little drop arrow and everything is empty.  I have tried the import process over and over.  I have tried opening the folders on the thumb drive before importing.

The email provider is Windstream and they might be able to restore my inbox with as much as 12 months worth of emails, but they do not have my storage folders tree, just a limited inbox.

Does anyone know if I should have done something differently?  Something the directions excluded, maybe?
