I have been using Windows Live Mail 2011 for years, for several e-mail accounts. A couple of days ago I started getting error messages for an imap account (hosted by GoDaddy). They say the server hasn't responded in 60 seconds; or this:
***********************************
Unable to send or receive messages for the Harold (imap) account. Header download for the 'Sent Items' folder did not complete. Could not download new messages from the IMAP server.
Server Response: Error in IMAP command received by server.
Server: 'imap.secureserver.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCCD2
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): No
************************************
I tried turning off SSL and changing the port; I installed WLM 2012. Nothing helped.
I seem to be getting e-mail in spite of this. GoDaddy hosts this account; they say there's nothing wrong at their end. When I look at the imap inbox via a browser, the messages are the same as those in the WLM inbox.
I don't have this problem with other e-mail accounts (Comcast, Compuserve, live.com).
One other thing, something I've never seen before. In WLM, one message has a strike-through on From, Subject and Date. When I try to open it, I get an error message saying a problem has occurred. I can't delete it because the "X" is greyed-out, as is "Delete" in the right-click menu. Where the message should appear in the preview window, there is this:
*********************************************
Message is no longer available on the server
Windows Live Mail is unable to retrieve the requested message because the server no longer has the message available.
*********************************************
But when I look at the in-box on the web site, the message is there and readable.
Hoping for help with this.
