This error code seems to be a regular feature of community chat but none of the answers that I've seen and tried seems able to resolve my issue so has anyone got any thoughts that might help me. I'm on Windows 10, having converted from Windows 7 around 4 months ago and I'm generally happy with the system. I use an Hp DV7 64 bit laptop which is c. 5 years old. I have thousands of photos on my system and out of preference have retained Photo Gallery as my primary storage and reference system.

My problem is that I am unable to rename a lot of my photos because of 'error code 80070057 The parameter is incorrect'. This is most frustrating and I'd like it to be put right. I've gone through all the suggestions regarding disabling protection programs and performing clean boots and I've run the Windows Essentials repair program but I'm still in the same position.

Has anyone got any idea of the cause of this problem as it affects me and how it might be resolved?
