A couple of months ago I got a new laptop with Windows 8.1.  I installed Live Mail 2012 but have a problem when trying to use "Send To" -> Mail Recipient.  When I use this method to attach a file to an email, the new email window opens as normal. I can enter recipients, titles, add text, etc, and the attached file is there.  However, a few seconds after the new mail window opens, a popup opens with schedule reminders.  The number of reminders can vary from one to seven or eight and all are for events long past. I cannot close this window or click "dismiss all".   Ignoring that oddity for a moment, when I click "Send" the email vanishes.  It is not in any folder or mailbox and never gets to the recipient.  It just disappears.  This happens every time I use "Send to" -> Mail Recipeint.   If I just open a new email, then drag attachments into it, everything goes as expected.    I have searched the web and cannot find any help or solution for these bizarre behaviors.
