I had multiple Microsoft accounts and I wanted to combine them. I closed my Microsoft account with a Gmail account as the main email because I intended on adding that email as an alias in my live account, and then deleting the live account as an alias and setting my Gmail account as my primary alias. But when I try to add my Gmail account as an alias I get "This email address is already taken. Please try another." Then I tried to log in with my closed account to see if the closing didn't work, but when I tried logging in it said that account does not exist.
