I (and other Windows Live Mail Users) recently received a message informing us that WLM may be discontinued by the end of June 2016.

Does anyone know why this will be happening?

Microsoft should know well, by now, that aside from Outlook (in Microsoft Office), Windows Live Mail, is one of the most liked and preferred Mail programs out there.   Sure, it could use a few tweeks. But, for the most part, it is very User Friendly, and provides the average email user[s] with all the features they could want; including a very nice calendar that sends reminders when scheduled events are about to occur.

Microsoft should also know that the 'Mail' program in Windows 10 is an embarrassing disaster, is User UNfriendly, is confusing, and is most definitely incomplete.    Simply put, it is in my opinion that Microsoft should send out an update which removes the 'Win10 Mail Program' and replaces with an update version of Windows Live Mail 2016!

It is very frustrating when a company such as Microsoft discontinues something that people like, rather than improving it and using it to everyone's advantage.    They did that a number of years ago with their Microsoft Money program - which people much preferred over Quicken.

Hopefully, this message will fall on the ears of someone at Microsoft who really cares how their users feel.
