I sync all my files with SkyDrive.
One program I use, and adore, is Scrivener for Windows. It stores its working files as a series of RTF documents, with auto-save every two seconds. This functionality is especially important to me now that it's November -- also known as National Novel Writing Month. :)
It appears that Microsoft Office Upload Center is getting stuck on some of these files, and in general, is preventing the effective syncing of certain Office documents across my SkyDrive hierarchy. Dozens of my files -- all of them, Office documents -- won't sync and effectively "pause" the sync process for SkyDrive. I have a few more GB to sync but SkyDrive is choking on all these MSOSYNC-errored files.
With Win7 and the desktop SkyDrive app, I could force the MSOSYNC client to stop. With Win 8.1 and Office 2013, there's no way I can disable the Upload Center. Yet the Upload Center conflicts with SkyDrive (or so it seems).
I want that damn MSOSYNC to stop screwing up my novels. I didn't ask for it, I don't want it, and MS has provided no way to disable it. I cannot fathom the logic of having two contradictory sync clients running simultaneously -- seems like a recipe for disaster.
Can someone help?
(I'm looking for real answers, not speculation based on what worked on Win 7 + Office 2010. I've spent the last two hours chasing Internet fairy tales about how to fix this problem. I want an authoritative solution.)
