Hi,

I just installed the latest update to Windows Live Mail 2012 (on Windows 7) which came with Windows Update.

Everything looks normal first, but after a while, the list of e-mails will appear garbled, some letters are replaced by "?" characters.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set up an outlook.com-based e-mail account to use with Windows Live Mail 2012 under Windows 7.
  2. Make sure that only the headers of e-mails are downloaded, not the full e-mails.
  3. Synchronize the e-mail account.
  4. Open one of the e-mails which haven't been fully downloaded yet (I mean, one of the e-mails for which only the header has been downloaded).
  5. Close the e-mail (I open my e-mails in separate windows, not using the preview panel).
  6. Switch folders on the left bar.
  7. The list of e-mails will now appear with the wrong coding, letters like Á, É will be replaced by "?" characters, similar to this: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-email/windows-live-mail-2012-display-sender-in-wrong/2a26ae7b-b580-4d53-9a2a-340ec80ee398

Also the folder of sent e-mails appears badly. The recipient appears to by myself for all e-mails, and there is no date when the e-mails were actually sent. The date appears only when the e-mail is fully downloaded, not the header only.

The issue as a whole is similar to my previous one: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/livemail-files/after-the-update-for-windows-live-mail-2012-my/1d2bb8f6-6799-4486-b281-413996f9c5ac

The situation is not as bad as before (at least I can actually use WLM 2012 now), but I think I will be better off reverting the update again until this issue is solved.

Thanks in advance,

Brumi
