Close your Microsoft account: You need to cancel any paid services…

I am trying to close out my hotmail account, but in order to do so, I receive this message;
  • You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account.
However, I do not have any paid services or Microsoft Points. I have had Xbox live Gold in the past, but all subscriptions have been canceled for several years. I have a new Windows Live account and I would like to close my old one.
