Microsoft has released Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 14.5.6 Update, which resolves the problem with Outlook freezing. To get the update, please use the Microsoft AutoUpdate application or download it manually from the link below:
This update provides the following fixes to improve Mac OS X El Capitan compatibility:
The hang situation that occurs during an account sync operation in Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 is fixed.
My outlook 2011 for mac crashes in my Macbook Pro for no reason, sometimes I'm not using it and when I return to outlook it doesn't respond. This started after installing OS X El Capitan. I have to force exit and then open it. It works for awhile and then it happens again. Help please!
I have "upgraded" from Office 2011 to 2016: with Word and Excel crashing multiple times every hour.
I would prefer to roll back to Office 2011, but I'm not sure if Word and Excel will regain stability as my Mac is now running El Capitan. Does anyone have experience with this?
When do we get a fix?
Today, Tomorrow, Never?
Hi all,
I started with a new Mcbook pro a couple of weeks ago, and I have installed Office 2011. When trying to synchronise my icloud contacts and calendar , I can't get anything into Outlook, although I have ticked everything. Searching through recent postings, there doesn't seem a solution. If this is the case, I will remain working with Apple Mail only, or has there been a recent solution?
Best,
Achim
Every attachment that I am receiving - JPEG pictures, contacts and calendar invites are being converted to Winmail.dat files. I am running Mac Mail with Outlook.com as an account; as well as Outlook from the Office for Mac 2011. It is happening in both versions.
Is there a fix for this?
Thanks

The font in my outgoing message body is size 11 and when it is received it is size 6. How do I get them the same?
When I manually change the font size in the body of the outgoing message the receiver gets it at a font size of 1 or less.

Hello,
I am getting the following error message when trying to open MS Outlook 2011 for Mac:
There is a problem with the Office database. To use the database, you must rebuild it using the Database Utility.
I tried the Database Utility and it stopped because I did not have enough hard drive space. But the failed process consumed 40 GB of my hard drive and then ran out of hard drive space. I could not figure out how to delete whatever files created or consumed my remaining drive space. I then cleared another 60 GB of hard drive space and tried the Database Utility again, but same problem! Now I have no hard drive space available.
I looked for backup Main Identity files, but could not find any to delete.
What do I delete or do to get my hard drive space back?
How do I know how big my data base files are so I know how much hard drive space to clear for a third attempt at using the Database Utility? My Outlook.pst file is 20 GB, and my outlook archive file is 18 GB.
Please let me know if there is a quick way to fix this problem.
Thanks!
