Well I am using the current version of MS Office for Mac 2011 and I get the spinning wheel with Outlook also.  I called MS Office and was told that if I paid for a support contract they could fix it.  Well I had one and actually gave them the data and they could not find it in their data base so they continued to be smart and ask for more money.  Mine is a university purchased copy and is supposed to have full support but I got none.  I sure wish I had some way to get in touch with management rather than IT folks who live elsewhere in the world.

I have a supposedly new problem told to me by both Microsoft tech support  and Apple tech support. I have Office for Mac 2011 and am running Maverick as an os. I have gmail as my default email client and am using mac mail as my mail reader. Outlook that  is bundled in with word, excel and powerpoint, is the problem. I do not use outlook and usually have it disabled, but on occasion I get an email that requires me to open it, when I do, all the mail in my gmail and mac mail is transferred into outlook and deleted from gmail and mac mail. I have had issues with mail disappearing in outlook before so I do not want to use it on a permanent basis, I would prefer to have it available but not as a default email client. I am looking for a way to use it without causing it to transfer and then delete mail from my other mail accounts. Any Ideas Please?

I have a shared email account accessed on a PC and a Mac.

The server details recently changed and I updated both computers, the PC works fine but the Mac keeps getting the message "Authentication failed because outlook doesn't support any of the available authentication methods" sending emails but receiving them is fine. The incoming and outgoing server details are the same and i am not using any authentication (SSL, SPA etc) as the PC is working fine it is not the server. I have tried every combination of settings.

I have rebuilt my identity, deleted the account and re-created it but still the same issue.

I am also fully updated with MS patches.

The MAC is running El Capital 10.11

Thanks

Martin

When I start to type certain words especially people's names, the word is automatically typed in and it is often NOT what I want but when I try to change it I have to X it out about 3 times before I am able to continue.

For example.  I want to type *** Email address is removed for privacy *** but *** Email address is removed for privacy *** will be typed and I have to over type 2 or 3 times for the name I want to be accepted!

I will type catapult and the word catnap will pop up... repeatedly.

and on it goes......

my mac has done an update now outlook won't open . I have office mac11 and have a product code but says not valid

The spam filter in Outlook seems at time to be random.

I keep clicking on "Mark as Not Junk" on emails I receive from certain addresses.  Some get through, others continue to go into Junk Mail.

I still get 200 or more junk emails a day.  I have to scroll through them all to "unjunkify" legitimate senders.  Why doesn't Outlook learn that emails are legitimate when I "unjunkify" them daily?  Why doesn't Outlook learn that other email addresses are junk and put them in the junk mail folder?  Why do I get emails from senders when I've junked them?

What's the best way to manage this?  I'm pretty careful about where I leave my email address and with whom, but no one can be certain who has passed on my email.

my MS Outlook Mac crashed and when I tried to restart the program the data file was corrupted.  I followed all the steps to repair the corrupted database but am given an error code at the end of the process telling me that the database can't be repaired.  I have tried creating a new identity and then copied over all the database folders (using the Rebuild option after every few folders are copied) but none of my messages, folders or data appears in the new identity.  Does anyone know how I can at least get all of my 'sent items' and organized messages folders back???

I use Outlook 2011 as an email client. I have an IMAP account with several subfolders and I have a lot of email in these folders which is stored on the servers of my ISP.

I have recently signed up with BT, mainly to get BT Sport, but I want to use my BT mail address for future emails. I need access to the emails stored on my initial ISP's servers, and thought I could do this by setting up new folders on the BT server and copying the emails from the initial folders into them. This seemed to work, but now, a couple of days after the copying, the mails no longer show in the new folders. I thought that perhaps the copying was not meant to work and started looking at exporting and importing the emails in the various folders, but I cannot get this to work.

Can somebody tell me how this can be done?

For background, the initial ISP also provides me with webspace to a domain I own. I have no future need of it and want to give up the domain, but if I do this now I will lose access to my email in the folders. I would like to transfer everything as soon as possible and close the domain but in practice it will have to continue for some time as, like many people, my email address on the old server is registered with lots of companies whose products I use. I have details of many of them, but some come as a surprise, today's being my ongoing sub to the Automobile Association. I think I will have to run both mail accounts for say six months to catch all of them before I can close the original account but it would be a big step forward to get the mail from the initial iSP' servers to the BT servers.

Good day

i have outlook 2011 for mac and since day one it has had the same issue. i lived with it at first, but its driving me crazy.

i have auto caps, etc etc switched on. Every time i paste a line from our pricelist, (ie. excel) and then start typing the next

sentence without manually add a capital in the beginning of the sentence. the second i Finnish the first word and hit space bar,

my curser jumps to the very end of my email and carries on typing there.... HOW do i fix this please.
