I recently updated my office 2011 using a microsoft delivered update. Word, Excel and PowerPoint appear to be working OK but outlook has completely reset. All of my email folders have disappeared and it didn't access my email accounts. I reset the email accounts and it spent an hour downloading thousands of emails. This happened on the 20th January and I posted onto the microsoft feedback site. One other person has had a similar failure but no contact from microsoft yet. I'm getting worried now as i have lots of personal and medical information in the folders and I don't know whether I will ever se them again.

Please help.

Thanks for any support offered.

Hi,

I am having the same issues that    Joan1975  posted

''I purchased a Mac Book Pro and I am a new Mac user. I also purchased the Office for Mac 2011 Home & Student. I installed it and it had been working great. No problems. My issue is since allowing updates (and I am not sure what update started the problem) I have a window on my desk top that will not go away and I have Microsoft Outlook "O" situated on my dock and cannot get rid of it. The window on my desk top is titled "Get Started with Office 2011." Inside the window it says Welcome to Microsoft Office:mac2011, How would you like to get started and has these options to click on: Enter your purchased product key, Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription, Try Office 365,including Office for Mac, or Use Office to view your files for free. Since I had purchased Microsoft Office for mac and have a product key this is the option I clicked on, however I get an :invalid product key" message. I do not want to use the other options because they do not  pertain to me. Also the Microsoft Outlook icon is on my doc and I do not want it there! I do not use it and do not need the clutter on my doc. Does anyone know what I can do to correct these issues? ''

My free 90 day Apple support and extended warranty has long since expired.  I do not care for Outlook in my dock, i do not use it, and have never tried to open it since installing office for mac 2011 student/home version.  Last week i clicked on the icon by mistake and i've been having trouble removing this welcome window ever since.

The product key I enter does not work (for student/home version only  W P X , Outlook not included), all I wish is to get rid off it !

I do not know which directives  Joan1975   got from  Apple support  to resolve this problem, though it seemed quite simple from reading the response.

Does anyone have a clue how I can resolve this issue ?

  Thanks

cleaning out my mac..I've installed word 2011 can i delete 2004?
The last thing I can remember doing is emptying the 4,000+ messages in my trash folder. The Mac beachball started spinning. Now I can send Email but incoming will not download. I've checked for updates, quit and relaunched, tried a handful of other things, and the "updating message list" bar in the lower right-hand corner of the main window is just hanging there. I can download on my iPhone, my husband isn't having any trouble. Any ideas, or should I just contact Microsoft support?
Periodically and quite randomly, my Outlook for Mac re-populates my Inbox with messages that I have already received. Sometimes it is just five or ten messages, other times it is 40 - 50 messages. Very time consuming to review all before deleting to assure a NEW message is not hidden in the midst!! Aaaarrrrggghh!

I have Outlook 11 for MAC and when I try to sync my iMap email it downloads all emails until it gets to the last two and then it hangs. It happens every time. I tried deleting emails off the server (I use reg123 email service) but it still happens.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Outlook for Mac 2011

Had mail in my Junk E-mail folder.  I deleted it, but I believe there was important non-junk mail in there.

Where does it go upon deleting?  The messages are not in Deleted Items.  I want to recover the mail.

is there a way to see the exact size of the whole message during composing one while adding multiple attachments?

i can see the size of attached files one by one, but i need the sum (attachments + the mail itself)

(OS X 10.10.5 + Outlook 2011 for Mac)
