Windows Live Mail FAQ
Hi,
I keep getting the above message and can't send and maybe can't receive emails. Thanks ahead of time.
The AppleScript below works fine on Outlook 2016 and has worked fine on Outlook 2011 until the most recent 2011 update (today is February 3, 2016).
The AppleScript now generates the error:
error "Microsoft Outlook got an error: Can’t make class calendar event." number -2710 from calendar event to class
Here is the entire AppleScript which scrapes the content from information on the clipboard:
set listContents to get the clipboard
set delimitedList to paragraphs of listContents
if listContents contains "Time: " and listContents contains "Subject: " and listContents contains "Duration: " and listContents contains "Date: " then
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to return
repeat with vLineText in delimitedList
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {": "}
if vLineText begins with "Date: " then set startDate to last text item of vLineText
if vLineText begins with "Subject: " then set theSummary to last text item of vLineText
if vLineText begins with "Time: " then set startTime to last text item of vLineText
if vLineText begins with "Duration: " then set vDuration to last text item of vLineText
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to return
end repeat
set startDate to startDate & " " & startTime
set theDescription to listContents
set startDate to date startDate
set endDate to startDate + (vDuration * minutes)
set theSummary to "Conference Call: " & startDate & " - " & theSummary
tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
set vEventInfo to make new calendar event with properties {subject:theSummary, plain text content:theDescription, start time:startDate, end time:endDate}
go to startDate --optional to scroll to event
open vEventInfo
end tell
end if
Please report this as a bug and let me know when this will be fixed in a future update or if the syntax has changed.
Thank you.

I have Office 2011 for the Mac and a 2011 i7 MacBook Pro. I recently went through an update process. But after, Outlook shows up on ALL my desktops...not just the one I launch it from. It's annoying because I use multiple desktops to keep applications separate. Outlook on one, Photoshop on another, InDesign on a third, Firefox on a fourth, and so on. But with Outlook taking center stage on every single desktop, it blocks all the other apps from being seen. I have to then minimize Outlook, which sends them ALL to the tray.
I'm hesitant to blow the whole thing up and re-install because this is my Work MacBook and I can't run the risk of losing e-mail.
Can someone help?
Outlook do not open when I try to launch it. The flash screen appears briefly (for a flash) and then the application quits. I have tried (successfully) to rebuild the identity and have deleted the file in the library that others with this problem have suggested was part of their solution. It is not working for me. Any other suggestions.
Running office for mac 2011......
My emails are arriving in my inbox and remain there until i sign out or after a short period of time disappear. They have not been deleted by me manually. I have deleted all filters. how do i keep them in my account permanently?
[TOOBIG] Message too large. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6584#limit
I keep getting this message in outlook for MAC using outlook version 14.6.0 outlook for mac 11.
I cannot find the mail it is referring to, there is nothin in my outbox that I can see
Can anyone help please?
Sarcasm alert. ;) Real issue, but I have to insert my own form of humor. (Depending on one's taste.)
After I installed the "urgent" update from January 16th, I had a problem with Word crashing every time I clicked on Format/Document. I was told to completely de-install then re-install Outlook for Business/Home.
I was referred to article 2398768 to uninstall. (I cannot believe there is not an uninstall program....this takes almost 2 hours. There were 11 steps, each step included four to five sub-steps. I had to reboot three times during the process. I had to delete hundreds of files. Boy were my fingers tired!)
The last step is to "Move the Microsoft User Data folder to the desktop."
The reinstall instructions assumed I had a disk, which I didn't. It referred to the directions to download. As usual, the entire process (including phone) required my re-typing or reciting the 25 character ID at least four times. (Next, I will be required to provide my longitude and latitude to the 10th digit for every address I've ever had and ¼ of my genome sequence!)
The re-install provides "virginal" versions of the software. I know I'l l have to spend some time customizing things once again....that's not too much of a problem. The old word files and excel files are still in my documents folder.
But how do I get Outlook to "get back" my old emails? It opens with no accounts and no data. I have a lot of email. I'm guessing it might re-download the old mail from my live.com account and my gmail account. But isn't that already in my Microsoft User Data folder that I moved to the desktop?
I called Microsoft and once again they tried to tell me I had to pay to get this fixed. (Isn't this like those companies that install a virus on your computer and require you to pay to remove it?) Finally, I was referred to an article on how to rebuild your database. But, I thought it needs to know where that database is....I didn't trust the answer. (Suggestion to Microsoft: train staff to understand that there are spaces between words. An entire sentence shouldn't be liaised into one word. Perhapstherearenospacesinthetrainingmanualforstaffandtheydon'tknowthatspacesexist.)
So, in my own words, how do I get my old emails to the right place and get Outlook to have them? And, what can I delete after I get this all working?
I've got El Salva.....errr El Capitan on a Macbook Pro late 2011. I have bloodtype O, am a Pisces, and the computer monitor is facing North. (My SMALL attempt at some dark humor, as I worry I've lost many years of email.)
Thanks in advance.
