I have searched all of the forums where this same question has been asked with no real definitive answer at all.

I have tried all of the suggestions, none of them work.

I have had Outlook on my MacBook for 2 years with no issues, all of a sudden I can't send emails!

The strange thing is after messing about with settings and restarting the mac it did work again for a while (using the original settings) then all of a sudden the issue returns.

If I connect to a different network (my neighbours wireless) then it sends fine, so the settings must be correct surely?

It has to be an issue with Outlook - I have spoken to my ISP (Virgin) and Domain hosting ISP who both say my settings are correct, no misspellings or added spaces that can't be seen, as I say it works on another network!

Will someone please try to explain what is going on.

Outlook 2011, Unable to search for specific Contacts.

  1. Have attempted the Contact Search functions
  2. Can find specific contacts only by scrolling the contact list
  3. This condition surfaced after returning the Database file and Data Records folder back to the Office 2011 Identities Folder from the Trash bin(have no idea how they ended up in the Trash Bin)
  4. All other functions of Outlook appear to work ok
Outlook for Mac 2011 does not recognise mbox files from my Mac mail to allow them to be imported. Surely the whole ides of Outlook for mac is to work with existing Mac mail ie mbox files??
My outlook for mac 2011 is suddenly not opening. Rest of Office opens fine. So, two questions: 1) can I reinstall Outlook without Reinstalling the whole Office for mac 2011? 2) must I first uninstall Outlook from my computer?

I am now unable to send an receive mail on out look. I get this message

"

Specified string literal size exceeds maximum supported string literal size"

I deleted all the sent mail....  no idea what to do next.  HelpU

I just started getting this message and Microsoft has been very unhelpful.  Anyone out there with ideas ?

Outlook launches without a Home Screen.

Menu Items are accessible and function properly (i.e. compose and send email, access Accounts etc.).

However, Home Screen does not render and you cannot see (or access) Mailboxes, Calendar, Contacts etc.

Appreciate that this is an issue with Public Beta Version but Apple has now issued this to One Million Mac Users and plenty of Microsoft Users rely on Outlook for Mac so, will need to be resolved.

Hello.

Is it me or is Outlook's filter blocking @earthlink.net e-mails these days? I tried multiple @earthlink.net e-mail addresses from various sources to various Outlook software clients' destinations with different e-mail addresses (e.g., gmail.com, etc.). I am seeing this from various people including myself lately. It doesn't matter which e-mail addresses, ISPs, locations, versions, OSes (Mac OS X and Windows), etc. I do notice it is @earthlink.net and Outlook.

Thank you in advance. :)
Yesterday, ran latest "urgent" update to Office 2011 on my macbook. But afterwards find that I am unable to open Outlook. The icon is still on my dock: whenever I click it, the logo "Outlook:mac2011" flashes for only a split second in the middle of my screen but instantly goes away -- the program refuses to open. Please help! The icon remains on my dock but will not open. Please help!

I am a subscriber to Office 365 for Mac and recently created an outlook account to use via my system's version of Outlook. Periodically, (twice now in 24 hours) however, the Outlook 365 system prevents me from sending any email - I get the message "5.3.4 Requested action not taken; To continue sending messages, please sign in to your account."

The amazingly frustrating part is that I DO SIGN INTO MY ONLINE WEBMAIL ACCOUNT to verify who I am - and I still have problems with this. It isn't until I try to actually send an email via the outlook webmail that I can re-access my computer version of Outlook - I have to go through this stupid verification process. And, frankly, this completely defeats the purpose of PAYING to have Outlook available on my computer for use, since MSN randomly decides that even though I am paying for their software, they're not going to let me use it!!! (Wouldn't it be nice if I could randomly decide to not pay Microsoft whenever their software crashes or prevents me from doing work!!!)

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me find a way to correct his problem as it is extremely annoying, time-consuming, and frankly in my mind, unethical, since I am paying for the use of Outlook 365!

Thank you.
