Outlook crashed today and I was asked to rebuild my database. I already had a couple of old backup identities from when this happened a year ago, but I mistakenly went to rebuild using one of those without first backing up the identity I had been using.

So now I am faced with a version of my database that is a year old. Is there any way to get the data back? Will it be stored in another identity? Or have I ruined everything???

When I search for emails that were in the identity, the title of the emails show up, but I get an error to say "Outlook cannot open the file because it is not associated with the default identity".

I would so appreciate any help.

Hello all,

I am using Office 2011 on my Mac. I have three email accounts - all imap. I am having issues with the MRU email addresses. Emails from my wife show up with my name instead of hers name. I added her to my Contacts and I added myself as well (as a separate entry). Even still, the emails have my name. It is a little confusing because I sometimes email myself information.

I am willing to wipe out the MRUs to see if this would help, but I can't find information on the MRU on a mac. any assistance would be wonderful!

I recently started using Outlook for Mac 2011 with Exchange. I also have access to Outlook 2010 (Windows). I noticed that contact photos are automatically supplied by Exchange, but they only display in Outlook 2010, not 2011. These are not contact photos I've uploaded or added to my local contacts, but photos an Exchange admin as added to the system.

How can I get them to display in Outlook for Mac?

Thanks

Hi dose anyone know how to write apple script to do auto bcc to other mail.

Thanks

I get no results for any folder. I'm using version 10.7.5 and Outlook 2011. Everything worked fine but then I had to make repeated rebuilds until Outlook stopped crashing on me.

When I search in Spotlight to see the emails but I get the following message - Outlook cannot open the file because it is not associated with the default identity.

How do I resolve?

Thanks.

Somehow I created a total of three Outlook email accounts (e.g. My Mail, My Mail 1, My Mail 2) all associated with the same email address; therefore, incoming email appears three times. I understand that I need to delete two of the accounts (My Mail 1, My Mail 2).

I went to 'Outlook Preferences' and selected 'Accounts' - no accounts are listed yet I continue to be able to send and receive emails.

Advice?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I changed hosting provider and wish to delete two email accounts from Outlook for Mac 2011 -- a POP account and an IMAP account. I have thousands of emails associated with these accounts. Most are stored in PST's that I imported into Outlook from my old laptop (which I just retired. I am new to Mac.)

When I go to delete the accounts, I receive the message "All items in this account will be removed from your computer." Really?!

If they are stored in PSTs, will I truly lose these emails when I delete these accounts? I can back-up, and I really don't want to go through the hassle of having to restore right now -- too much going on.

I have read posts suggesting that POP account files are safe. And IMAP accounts?

I appreciate any insights you have.

Robin

Hello,

I cannot any longer open Outlook. Each time I try to open it, I receive the following error message (after a couple of seconds - I can see though in the meantime that it synchronized as I can see most recent emails - even though I do not have time to read them as Outlook closes before that): "Microsoft Outlook must be closed because an error occurred. Any unsaved work may be lost". And my only option is to click on it and it closes. What shall I do?

Thanks

Antoine
