Returning to Mac world after 10 years with Windows. I purchased 3 macs and installed Office 2011 on each one. Importing my contacts from Windows Outlook 2010 via an exported .pst file went without a hitch on all 3 Macs with Office 2011. Now that the windows computers are gone, I need to manually export and import (since syncing is gone with Mavericks) my contacts from my primary Office Mac to my Home Office Mac and my Macbook. I'm pulling my hair out! When I export my contacts I'm getting an .olm file that is only 9 kb in size...and it doesn't contain any the contacts to export.
I'm beginning to regret the move. I could syc my calendar and contacts easily in the Windows world. The Mac Outlook Calendar doesn't sync with my google calendar. There isn't any software in the Mac world yet to seamlessly sync my gmail contacts with Outlook....AND now I'm finding I can't even manually update Outlook contacts between my Macs. I've done lots of research and I know I'm going through the proper steps to export and import my contact files. But it's NOT WORKING.. and I'm REALLY not happy that I paid extra for a clearly inferior/useless App that is Outlook in name only.
Anybody have any answers?
how can i see the received email address and NOT the name of the sender, or both?
Thanks for the help.
when editing the signatures it isn't possible ton enlarge, (drag the window on the right corner) or pull the window ...
Have anybody an idea or must ONLY the detour via TextEdit or similar?
Thanks for an answer.
I am working at a new client site today and when I plug into their ethernet cable, I cannot seem to receive incoming emails or send outgoing emails. This is a POP account. The error message I keep getting is the following:
Error:
An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.
Details:
Could not retrieve mail.
Account name: "Mitesh Gandhi"
Error Code: -3259
I also tried accessing my emails through my web client and had no luck. Any suggestions?
I have a problem with Outlook crashing when I quit the application. This has been going on for a while, and it has our IT Team stumped. I'm running Outlook for Mac 2011 v14.4.3 on OS 10.8.5. Rebuilding the Main Identity seems to help, but things eventually degrade back to the starting point.
I regularly use Parallels, although I never use Outlook simultaneously on both platforms. I have a second, Windows based, workstation in another location that I use twice a week. Although crashes on my Mac seems to be more common after using Windows, I don't
think there is a direct association since it will crash without ever running Windows. I don't know if this may help, but it seems that setting up my Identity in Outlook on my Mac or downloading messages into my InBox can sometimes be extremely slow. It's almost
as if there is a communication block between the Mac Outlook front end and our Windows based server.
Other Macs at our company have Parallels and, for whatever reason, mine seems to be the only one with this problem. As best as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be anything else being compromised by these crashes. It's simply that I don't consider crashes to be a good thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you,
Dave
Recently I bought a MacBook Air and Office 2011 for Mac. I have a hotmail.com account and obviously managed to get my my e-mail synced. However, I also want to sync my contacts and agenda with Outlook. Can any help me how to to this?
just moved to Mac and installed Office 365 for Mac using Outlook for email.
I'm struggling with the formatting of items when I cut and paste them into an email, on a PC you get options to use destination or original format but not on the Mac version and generally the format gets screwed - whether it's an excel portion, word, a lift from a pdf or anything.
Anyone got any clues or guidance as to how you manage to get the formatting sorted how you would want it??
Thanks, Colin
my email are not going into my inbox they are going directly to my trash box. It started today for no apparent reason. Can any one suggest what I can do to rectify. thanks
