I need to find a way of protecting my smart folders from accidental modification.

If I have a smart folder selected and run a search using "Search this folder" field,  Outlook will ask me if I want to save changes on smart folder as soon as I try to navigate away from my current selection.

Steps I follow:

  1. Select a smart folder
  2. Type a search on "Search this folder" field
  3. Navigate away from smart folder

At this point if I click "Save" I will be actually overwriting my smart folder.

I have very complex criteria which makes this a very annoying issue.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Outlook has always worked in the past and for some reason it will not open.  It is like it starts an the splash screen comes up for a quick second and then goes away.

I have my Outlook set to send messages in html. I want to send messages to one person in particular in plain text. I would like not tohave to remember to switch those messages every time I hit command-r or command-n. I do not want to turn off the "reply in the sender's format" option -- this is behaviour I want for one recipient only, not all my mail.

I can make a rule for outgoing mail with that recipient's email address -- and I could assign an Applescript to that message.

Does anyone know how to write an Applescript that switches an outgoing message from html to plain text?

Or does anyone have another idea?

(To explain why I want to do this, I correspond with someone who uses Mac Mail and has poor eyesight. He has set Mac Mail to enlarge all his mail to 25 point size, but Outlook's html settings defeat that. If I send in plain text, his preferences work.)

Thanks,

Madeline

Hi,

I use Outlook for Mac 2011 and has always worked fine with the Exchange server. Out of the blue, last week it started to show an error message thaw says "Mail could not be received at this time" and asks me to retype the username/password. When I do, it connects, starts downloading a few messages and, after 2 or 3 seconds asks again and again and again. It only happens  when I connect on a different network. If I use the same Exchange server network it works fine.

I've read that I could delete, on keychain, the respective application password. Didn't work for me.

Does anyone have a magic trick?

Tks ...

Outlook 2011 crashes every time when it tries to access an exchange online account that is not being used any (user account has been deleted from server but I still like to keep the local data). For the past half year this did not create an issue but somehow it now crashes almost instantly with the following  error message:

any idea ?

My email account on my iMac has recently started to repeatedly show a symbol that is a triangle with a circle and exclamation point inside.  When I click on the symbol I get the following message:

    ALERT:

There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account or try again.

The server returned the error: Mail was unable to connect to server “pop3.live.com” using SSL on port 995. Verify that this server supports SSL and that your       account settings are correct.

What do I need to do to fix this?  How do I verify the settings and verify that the server supports SSL?

Thanks for your help!

Hello there,

I read other similar questions in the community, but nothing really applies to my situation..

First of all I am sending out emails from my computer, Mac, and I don't have any anti-virus blocking the way.
There are 5 email accounts on this Outlook (3 personal accounts and 2 info boxes).

This problem only applies to one of my personal accounts.

When I check it out on Gmail, I can also find duplicates there.

I don't want people receiving the same email twice, which is what happens usually.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi,

I was able to integrate iCloud Calendar and Contacts into my Microsoft PC Outlook through Add-In.

I have now purchase a Mac Air and Microsoft Office Mac 2011 and need to have the same set up like the above.

Please help me integrate it.

Thanks

Peter Lee

Main mail folder is showing 1 unread message and there is not one. I really don't want to start another identity. Is there an easier solution?

I just purchased the 2011 Student Package for Mac, which includes Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. After it downloaded, Outlook also appeared. The "Get Started" screen popped up with it. I am unable to quit out of Outlook and unable to exit out of the "Get Started" message, which wanted me to get started by entering an access code. Given the fact what I purchased doesn't include Outlook, my code obviously doesn't work. I tried shutting down my computer to get rid of it, which did not work. How can I get rid of this?

Thank you,

Alexa
