I have my Outlook on Mac configured to get my emails from my Hotmail account and not suppress them.

Every now and again, Outlook for mac downloads them again all at once. I then receive around 400 emails I already have on my Mac.

What should I do ?

Thanks for your help.

My school has a Zimbra web hosted email service, NOT Exchange. I can get my mail in Outlook for Mac, and I like it as a mail program.

When I enter events on my Outlook for Mac calendar, I can see them in my Outlook for Mac calendar. That is it. As far as I can tell, that's the only place. It doesn't sync to anything. I may as well have a paper calendar.

Please, tell me I am wrong, that there is a way I can view my calendar on any other device? I mean, do I have to take a screen shot and send it to drop box?

Emails that i had deleted months ago spontaneously appear in my inbox, like 4,000 of them.  which caused my account to crash.  Why?

Just recently, links in emails no longer work if my browser is already open on a web page.  Even Outlook's own Feedback link in the top menu is affected.  Is this maybe an error in an update?

Running Mavericks 10.9.5 and Outlook 14.4.4

I have two systems where when you select Outlook/Preferences then click on the Fonts pane, nothing happens. No font selection sheet ever appears. All other preference panes work as expected.

I have other Mavericks systems where this works as expected, but not these two.

One of the non-functioning systems is brand new install. Totally fresh OS, fresh Mac OS user, fresh MS user.

I did import an .olm file from the previous user account in order to get archived mail messages.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Okay, upon launching Outlook for mac today, it freezes every time, spinning beach ball of death, then times out with an error report/restart screen. Okay, I went through a rebuild of the main identity, no luck, same issue. I had created a backup as part of that process, but using it as main identity didn't solve the problem. I created a new identity, which meant setting up all new account info, and that's working, sending and receiving emails, but I don't have access to all the data (messages, contacts, etc) in the former identity. It's an important resource for me. Is there any way to recover this, either through an import of the old files to the new account/identity, or another method?

hi

I have just configured my gmail account to my MAC outlook 2011. All my mails that were in my gmail account are now showing in my outlook inbox. However i am not able to view my sent items in outlook.

I am using the 2011 office for MAC...

Can some one please help me with this....

I recently installed my website's email address to outlook for mac today. It worked fine for about an hour and then I started getting this error message when I tried to send message. Any advice?

I set up my Gmail account (IMAP) in outlook 2011 for mac and my edits in outlook (deletions, folder moves, etc.) aren't updated in gmail web. Any help?

Thanks!

Hi all,

A function I'm quite familiar with and recommend to my users is archiving emails rather than leaving them on the server. Because space isn't infinite.

Dragging and dropping between volumes requires you hold Command to keep it from Copying instead.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/move-elements-between-folders-not-copy/e0ff4e3c-9961-4ff0-b8d7-c582bbfac920

I've talked users through this fairly frequently but I have on occasion found that holding command doesn't make the green plus go away when dragging between volumes. The best alternative is to thing to move by copying and then delete after the fact. Which for the most part increases the chances of accidental deleting rather than archiving.

The fun part of this problem which I believe to be a fairly uncommon bug, is that It doesn't occur on my Mac and I can't replicate it.

I have on a few occasions gone over and done it on another machine for someone to find that it's not a case of user error. Holding command genuinely doesn't work for a small number of users.

  • I've gone through the settings and I can't seem to find anything that looks close to what I'm looking for.
  • Made sure Outlook is fully up to date.
  • Created a new Identity and it doesn't appear to be account specific.

It's come up maybe 4 times this year and I've confirmed it myself twice.

I'm really not sure what's happening, I haven't tried reinstalling primarily because it falls outside of the scope of my job (technically so does this technically).

Never the less I am genuinely curious.
