Hello community,

I had been searching for a long time for my emails, from approximately two years on my MacBook Air, sadly I am not able to find them. As soon as I enter my inbox/client, there are only emails from 2011,2012,2014. The emails from half of 2013 (July-December are still there, November(2012)-June(2013) are gone) seem to be missing. Six months ago or so I had an error in my inbox/client and therefore I had to make a new identity to my outlook client, but I did not expect that this would delete some of my emails. I suspect that somehow after this reset these emails were deleted, but are still somewhere saved in some folder of my Mac. I am hoping that someone in the forums is able to help me or happens to know where to find the emails in my computer. Would this be possible? If yes, where can you find them?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

I updated my MAC OS to Yosemite at the weekend. On restarting when I tried to access Outlook I was asked to Activate the program. This I did and the result indicated everything was OK. However when I tried to access my mail I was again asked to Activate the program.Similar sort of problem with all the Office functions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package with no success. What should I do?

Hi,

I am contacting you on behalf of the business.

I have to say, I found quite hard to try and send some feedback to Microsoft re: Outlook for Mac and what we see, as a business, it would be useful to have in the next Outlook version (for Mac).

We have had constant problems with outlook and its communication with printers etc. - for some reason our outlook was conflicting with our fiery printer and it froze every time we tried to print. We had to get rid of the fiery.

I would like to give some comments for improvement if you ever issue an outlook for 2015 or 2016

Firstly if someone sends an email with the font too small it would be good to have a zoom option to read the email received.

Secondly, the outbox needs to be visible! When there are problems and outlook takes away the emails to the outbox one can never see them and try to change account or modify text or reopen these (remember the good old Entourage?) if you were able to go into the outbox you could change email account (say if the problem were the email settings and other similar things).

There are also problems with the indexing of Mac and Outlook database. It's a terrible communications. I believe this is more of a Mac issue, however Widows can also work on this.

Also it would be good to sync Ms Word as an outlook message so one can write a message in word and then send it directly from there (the old 2003 entourage option in word File_send as an email) that was beautiful as the dot points and other editing options that Word has can never be replaced to accuracy in an email body.

If someone sends an invitation email and the recipient party accepts, it would be good to have the original invitation in the email list as well as the date recorded in the calendar.

Email messages from another identity - possibility to open them somehow if the identity is lost - and not through third party programs.

Also our business wants to keep using POP so do not delete that option as it is useful, I know the future is "IMAP" but for some businesses it is not the way to go.

Please feel free to add to this wish list.

Hello all,

This seeks help on my below specific issue on my Outlook for Mac 2011 in Mac OS X 10.10.

When I try to add my exchange account into the Outlook for Mac 2011, it freezes and I need to force quit it.

Actually, it was working before but memory on my Mac was low due to large mail database. So I deleted my identity and then re-open Outlook. It freezes when re-adding account

I try all suggestions that I found in the previous question and all I can search as below but they are all not working.

1. Reinstall OS X 10.10

2. Reinstall Office for Mac with newest version

3. Create/Rebuild identity

However, I try to test with creating new user account. I find that it works!!! I can add exchange account without freezing.

But when I back to current user, it still freezes even in safe mode.

Any suggestion here? How can I fix the issue without clean install my mac

Thanks in advance,

IM

I just updated to Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5 (on a 13-inch mid-2011 MBA running Mac OS X 10.8.5).  My Sent Items folder now has Exchange sync problems.

Emails that I send are saved in the Sent Items folder (both within Outlook and on the Exchange server), but when I move or delete them, they are moved and deleted within Outlook for Mac, and emails that are moved to folders that exist on the Exchange server show up in those folders within Outlook and on the server, but they remain in Sent Items on the server.  I need to delete the emails in Sent Items either through OWA or through PC Outlook to get rid of them.  I've also tried "Empty Cache" to no avail.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Hi

Can some one please help !!!

I have an iMac, iphone & iPad.

Outlook was working perfectly until Friday evening, we had a power cut !!

Then outlook stopped working on my iMac. Its fine on the other i products.

I have this error message " Microsoft Outlook cannot open be open because of a problem"

Check with the developer to make sure Microsoft Outlook works with this version of OS X.

You may need to reinstall the application.

Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X"

I have updated all software and try to re install but with the same problem......any ideas ?

Many thanks...Ruth

I have the same problem related by Brian.

"I can't seem to create a new folder in Outlook. Whever I choose the command to create a folder it always creates it as a sub-folder of the category my cursor was last on. I couldn't find anything in the Help function on this. Any suggestions? Many thanks. Brian"

Brian solved his issue  unchecking "Hide On My Computer folders".

Im my case, "hide on my computer folders" is and was allways unchecked. and I can not see the root folder.

Please help me. Thanks Daikichi

Hello,

Here’s a annoying Outlook bug that I’ve noticed on 5 different workstations running the latest Outlook version 14.4.5 on MacOS 10.7 and 10.8 and 10.9.

Adding or modifying a signature breaks Outlook Exchange account password. As soon as I type in my new signature text and select a exchange account for my default signature e.g. *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, Outlook prompts me to enter the Exchange password. Until now, Outlook was running for months without asking me for password! This bug occurs with both RTF and plain text signatures.

Please retry. This bug is reproducible!

So, with all the POODLE vulnerability revelations, everyone is disabling all SSL protocols in favor of TLS.  Unfortunately, this has effectively killed Outlook 2011 since its behavior is to use SSL 2.0 to establish a handshake.  Is Microsoft planning a patch for this or are we all just out of luck? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2955530

My boss uses Outlook 2011 on his MacBook in an Exchange environment. Recently he started to complain that everytime he visits his calendar, all "Subscribed Public Calendars" is checked and clutters his calendar. If he unchecks it, all is well. But the next time he visits his calendar, all "Subscribed Public Calendars" is checked again. Is there any way to prevent this?

Thanks.
