I use the Advanced Find function quite frequently, and until recently have had no problems.  After upgrading to Yosemite (10.10) and updating Office 2011 for Mac, Outlook (14.4.5) has not functioned properly when attempting to use the Advance Find function.  When I select Command-Shift-F for Advance Find, the Advance Find field appears but the cursor returns to the standard Search field in the top right corner of the window.  I then have to move the cursor to the Advance Find field and click so that I can begin typing in the field. This may seem insignificant, but I process many emails and adding these steps to my process is extremely inefficient and clearly a bug in the software.  This function has performed as expected until the recent updates in Yosemite and Office 2011.

Microsoft, please fix this issue.

Thanks

Jonathan

...but when I try to import the Holidays calendar using the wizard in File menu, I get the following error in a pop-up window:

"The import could not be completed.

An unknown error has occurred in Outlook."

I've not noticed this before because I hadn't really used Outlook until very recently.  I prefer to use it over Mail, Calendar and Contacts.

This could be linked to the fact that the following menu buttos are available, but 'greyed' out:

On the Home tab:

Open Calendar

Permissions

On the Organize tab:

Scale slider

Open Calendar

Permissions

Properties

Sync

On the Tools tab:

Out of Office

Public Folders

I include these in case it assists in a response.

I'm using OS X Yosemite version 10.10 and the latest Mac Office update was installed earlier this week.

Thank you.

Im new on Mac and Outlook (spent my whole life using Windows Live Mail, where I had an Imap account, but all storage folders keeping messages at the computer).

I added my Imap account at outlook 2011 at my Mac with no Problem, but all folders created stay at IMAP server and I would like to keep the storage folders at the computer. I could only find settings to change the main folders (sent, draft, junk, trash), not for the storage ones.

I would like to keep all messages received at the computer (.pst file), after I move them from the Inbox, to the selected folder. Although, inbox and other main folders should remain at Imap. Any tips? Apreeciated...

I am getting frustrated with my Microsoft Outlook for mac 2011

Every week it automatically download old emails into my outlook and I have had to delete these old emails every week!

I do not understand why it keeps repeating itself.

I need assistance to identify this irritable problem and prevent it happening again on my outlook.

Many thanks

Hi,

I have purchased Office Home for Mac. I am thinking now to have Outlook. How can I purchase it without having to buy the full Business package?

Hi group, I am in a lawsuit and I am trying to recover some emails that I deleted in Aug 2014 I also had a few database rebuilds and last week my osx went south and I needed to wipe the drive to reinstall the osx from scratch. I've used 3-4 recovery software including steller, disk drill, and remo. I have been able to recover message files named like this : file001737.olk14msgsource and Main Identity.rge, but unable to really read much.

I'm really worried obviously and I am trying to find software that might find one of the id database folders intact but very doubtful. I can't believe there is not one app that can read the msgsource file on a mac. If anyone can point me in a direction that might help I'd be so thankful.....

Best Dave

Hi.

I have a client with Office for MAC 2011 who just moved from local Exchange to Office365.

Before the setup for shared folders was actually "User mailbox" and they did not have a problem grouping the inboxes from the different accounts which is default in Outlook.

One person is responsible for five shared boxes plus his own, and would really like the same setup as before. Is this possible?

I have replicated the outcome on Outlook 2013 by using "favorites", but as far as i know this is not possible with Oulook on MAC.

Any suggestions?

We have one user in the company that has 2 mac computers, an iMac, and a macbook air. Both are running 10.9, Outlook 2011 (current update), and are not receiving any new email in their inbox on the computers, but is receiving new emails on his iPhone and iPad. His mailbox database size on exchange has not been reached either. His Outlook 2011 account has been rebuilt, deleted, and recreated, but the issue continues.

If he clears/empties the cache in Outlook 2011 this works for a little while, but the email stops coming in. His inbox is around 16Gb, if that helps anyone.

I have a few Apple MacBook users with Outlook 2011, and connecting back to my Exchange 2010 server (essentially via OWA). Currently it all works fine.

With the new POODLE vulnerability, it is recommended that SSLv3 be disabled in Exchange, and instead fall back on TLS. Does anybody have any experience with Mac users connecting to Exchange, disabling all SSL versions (SSLv3, v2, etc) on Exchange, and the Mac user still being able to connect?

I am not able to find much on the web, but I have seen a few people say that Outlook 2011 for Mac does not support TLS. IF you go in to the settings for email, it does only have an option for "use SSL" and does not mention TLS.

Does anyone have any further insight? Thanks
