Hi,

This just started after I installed Yosemite on my laptop (running the latest Outlook).  When I print out my emails, the top header portion is in a weird mono space font probably 6 pt. . . . very difficult to read.  Is there anyway to control the header's font and size?

Steve

I'm seeing repeated error messages telling me that Gmail (I know--this is not a Gmail forum) can't send an e-mail message that is too large, and I'd be grateful for suggestions from more tech-savvy users about how to make them stop.

I use a MacBook Pro, running OS X Yosemite v.10.10. I use Microsoft Outlook for Mac as part of Office for Mac 2011. I have Outlook for Mac synced with a Gmail account. A couple of days ago, I tried to send an e-mail to someone with several files attached, one of which was a large video file. The message would not send, and I figured out that it was too large and then deleted it from my Outlook Outgoing Mail folder. Now, when I launch Outlook, I no longer see that folder, but I keep getting these error messages on my Desktop. They show up in a little dark-gray window that says Gmail at the top and that has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside it, on the left side of the window. The text in the window says, “[ALERT] Message too large. http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?answer=8770”.

Last night outlook 2011 (14.3.5, 52MB) prompted me to rebuild database, dutifully did so (without first duplicating) and seemed to work.

This morning the prompt reappeared and resulted in a 'database could not be rebuilt' message and error code 20997 (from memory). I am currently not able to open Outlook.

As suggested here I deleted Library preferences mentioning database utility and daemon, no joy.

I created a new identity and Outlook opened normally.

My email is IMAP so inbox and subfolders safe and sound on host website.

It seems i'm going to have to create & build a new identity and transfer my contacts, calendars and notes across, none of which I can afford to lose. My Time Machine hadn't been working properly for the around 3 weeks so not sure I can utilise but let me know otherwise.

Please advise on how to do this in a simple (for a non tech literate) and safe way that will not jeopardise contacts and calendar in particular.

And how to avoid it happening again.

Thanks

I have an exchange account and am trying to share my calendar with my colleagues - I am the only person using Office for Mac

Please can someone assist me with a step by step process of how to do this....

Dear All,

some help needed here.

I currently have 2 POP accounts in MAC Outlook 2011.

I understand that I need to create "RULE" to group the incoming messages to 2 different folders. I have tried that but the messages did not appear in the folders.

Not too sure if I have set the "RULE" correctly. Will appreciate if someone can go thought with me how to do it.

I would also like to do the same thing for outgoing mails.

Thank you!

Best Regards,

RoseMary

Suppose you make a search on some key word and you find many matching messages. How can you identify the parent folder of each of these?

Many thanks for help on this issue.

Hello!

I'm running Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15 inch, early 2013).   The MacBook is running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.

Yesterday, my Outlook stopped placing sent mail in my sent folder.

I have two different email addresses, one from a privately hosted server and the other is Optus (a major provider in Australia).   Both are POP accounts, and the same issue arises for emails sent from either server.

Here's more information:

  • if I look at my inbox emails, it shows that the mail has been replied to,
  • the mail is being sent and received (I know from talking to recipients)
  • if I click on the 'show reply' button on a particular item of mail in the inbox, the sent email DOES display (so the emails are not being totally deleted from the computer, just not showing up in the Sent folder).

So that pretty much isolates the problem to some glitch in the software that is stopping items appearing in the sent mail folder.

I did NOT change any settings for this to occur - it just started happening.

And it is NOT being caused by having a rule that sends all sent mail to the deleted folder.

Can anyone help with this?  It makes it impossible to work if you can't see what you've sent to people.

Many thanks,

Bruce

Outlook mac 2011.

When I open certain messages (could not decide which) the window cannot be shut and I have to quit Outlook to do this.

What can be done?

Thanks

Hello all,

As u can see on screenshot, my incoming port is 995 instead 110. When i select the box "override default box" and i change for 110 port, later the number change again to 995.

I can not send or receive emails. I can connect to my account but as u can see in "progress" box, i cant update the message list :(

I can't open outlook on my mac, and after using the database utility tool to rebuild, i have the famous error code 18000. I replaced the, apparently corrupt , map with the name Main Identity with an older version made via a back up of my system.

But also this can not be rebuild, same error code...

How can I get outlook working again, i doing want it start with an empty email inbox....

thanks!!
