I have just installed Outlook 2011 for Mac and it will not allow me to open a new task . . . when I click on the icon it just ignores me . . .
When I right click over a mail folder in Outlook I am not allowed to move, re-name or delete it. It is only for one folder and its subfolders. How do I fix this?

I use Outlook for Mac 365 (says it is 2011) connected to an exchange server.

I connect 2 pc's and the mac to the same exchange server but due to the amount of emails stored on the server it is filling up the hard drive on my mac.

I do not wish to reduce the emails stored on the server.

Can you limit the number of emails synced?  e.g Deleted Box 500 emails or a GB limit. so it would just sync the most recent ones?

Hi!

I'am using Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro laptop to synchronize mail with my corporate Outlook365 account.

We are using JIRA for our internal purposes, and all mail coming from JIRA server are looks like:

(taken from message source)

From: "John Smith" <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

From: "Ann Smith" <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

e.g. - the same e-mail address with different names

But in my navigation pane Outlook displays wrong sender name, eg all mail from today are looks like sent by "John Smith", but in real there is several mails from "John Smith" , some from "Ann Smith" and also some from other persons - and all "correct" names are present in messages sources in FROM field

In Outlook Web client everything is OK

in Thunderbird using this account everything also OK

With Outlook 2011, I could search my contacts with advanced search by category and make a smart folder. Doesn't work with the recent upgrade to Outlook 15. Please advise

After rebuilding, the program continues to operate normally for a period ranging from a few hours to a day at which point the program will close itself and then prompt the user to rebuild the identity once again. This account is Office 365 and is added as Exchange and from what I understand shouldn't have the identity rebuilt. So far we have tried:

-Rebuilding the identity

-Clearing the email account and creating a fresh profile then adding the email account once more.

-Repairing Disk Permissions

-Creating a new Identity

-Completely uninstalling Office 2011 and removing preference files, library files, daemons, etc and then reinstalling the program from scratch. It is currently the latest version.

Currently running OSX Yosemite with 32GB RAM and plenty of HD space. When the program stops functioning it does not display an error message, it simply prompts the user to rebuild the identity.

Does anyone else have any further suggestions for troubleshooting?

Good Day,

I have lots of contacts with local Categories assigned.  Up until update 14.4.5 when I received email from one of them the mail was automatically categorized and would change color.  Now it categorizes and a moment later the category is removed.

I am connected to an Exchange server (although that should not matter).

I have no Rules configured.

I have removed Outlook preference files (~Preferences and ~Application Data).  I have rebuilt the Outlook database.  All to no avail.

If I remove the "Assign categories to..." and create a rule to set the category and  the behavior is identical.

If I run the Rule manually the category sticks.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

I've been having problems for the last couple of weeks with my Outlook for Mac 2011.  I was asked to rebuild the database after a recent crash and today for the first time a new issue has started which is that I cannot delete anything without it reappearing within seconds back to my inbox.

As a side issue, I can also not edit the names of folders.  I use the 2 finger gesture to get the menu - go to rename folder- and then for a slit second the option to edit comes up but then immediately seems to stop the option to edit.  I have replicated this on Finder by adding folders and the same problem does NOT exist so also seems limited to Outlook.

Please let me know any thoughts.

If anyone could do a simple explanation of reinstalling or trying the latest updates again that would be great please

Hi,

I am moving from Windows 7 to Mac. I have a signature on my old PC and want to copy it to my MacBook. Where can I find the Signature Directory?

Fred

We have one person using Outlook for Mac 2011 (v.14.4.5) and if they use the search tool, the results appear to be displayed as normal.

However once search is completed, the items found then start disappearing from the screen one by one, starting with the most recent first.

This happens at a rate of about one very half second.

Any ideas?

We've re-indexed the entire hard drive for Spotlight - but to no avail.

It effectively makes any search unusable.
