I am running Outlook 14.4.6. I have an alert that there is 1 email unread, however even if the inbox is empty the number 1 is in bold and says one unread email even though there are no emails in the inbox. Cannot get rid of it. Bottom left where it alerts you to number of email and how many are unread it indicates that there is one mail unread. Cannot get rid of the number in bold or the unread alert. Any ideas?

I updated Office 2011 to v. 14.4.6 this morning after receiving a message that it is required to fix security issues.

Immediately it wrecked Outlook. First, I received unusual demands to enter my Account information for "Net" each time I opened Outlook. Then I found my entire SENT and DELETED files were emptied of thousands of important records. Then, my Contacts had been deleted. Finally a rogue error started creating new INBOX files after deleting my existing files. These new files were named INBOX 1, then INBOX 1 1, then INBOX 1 1 1 and so on indefinitely. This was accompanied by warning sounds and a message that a file named 1, 1 1 or 1 1 1 was not acceptable. The creation of these files has gone on all day.

Can anyone suggest what has done this, and what remedy I have?  Can I go back to 14.4.5? Is there any way of recovering my lost contacts and e-mails? I have Time Machine running - can the Sent emails be restored from there?  What abut my contacts with phone numbers?

Outlook was all running ok with the occasional crash, but yesterday Outlook would not launch at all.  I have just added the new update for Yosemite that appeared this morning which stated improvements for Outlook.  Yet still no joy - it looks as though it gets to 'establishing identity' and then goes no further.  Any ideas?  With thanks

Starting 2 days ago, whenever I try to attach a file using the attach staple - I get the error message "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience..." Here's the error log:

Thanks!

My 2011 version of Outlook keeps crashing with the message "Microsoft Outlook must be closed because an error occurred. Any unsaved work may be lost." It happens within a few minutes of opening and started about 12 hours ago. I have downloaded and updated the software and restarted my Mac book pro (which is about 4 years old and is running on Yosemite).  Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Hello,

For the last several months my Outlook for Mac 2011 has been functioning with the spinning wheel of death every time I try to type an email.  Now it has progressed to not working at all.

FYI -- I have linked Mail to my Outlook account however, any changes I made in Outlook (such as deleting an email or moving emails to folders) remain in the Mail version as well as they remain in the web browser version of Outlook.  So in other words, Mac's Mail and Outlook's web browser are the same but the main Outlook for Mac 2011 is different.

Here is part of the error:

2011 Outlook for Mac with Yosemite (10.10) and all latest updates, i am having trouble sending emails from Groups in the BCC and even when there are large amounts of emails in the BCC (not as a group) i am also having issues.

Some with up to 50 emails in BCC were sent but most aren't going through.

gives error code 'A message could not be sent' ' The message could not be sent because it has unresolved problems'

with the older versions before i updated to yosemite and outlook for mac updates i could send almost 1000 emails from several groups..

I have a Exchange Account from a previous company I worked contract on. That contract has ended and email account is disabled. Trying to remove it but basically puts Outlook in a "lock up" state. How can I remove this account without reinstalling Outlook?

Thanks

I have been tasked to setup up a new Mac for a local company.  They have a slow old PC running Office 2003.  The total personal folders export as a 4.7Gb .pst file but when dropped onto an external hard disk with 50Gb space I get a message saying the disk is full.  I solved this by exporting each folder in the emails one at a time.  These imported into the Mac which is running iMap email (the PC ran POP3 email), but came in as a new folder "on my computer" and did not merge into the existing email folders as I normally expect when going from PC to PC. My question is why when I imported contacts.pst does it create a folder which is empty when the file size of the contacts pst is 1.7Gb?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I did advise them not to buy a Mac but they insisted.

Do I have to import the .pst into a newer copy of Office and re-export to get it to work maybe?
