There are many similar questions as mine, but the responses are all very old, too.

It appears that when I delete an email message, it goes to the Deleted Items mailbox.  Then, I have to delete it AGAIN from Deleted Items to get rid of it permanently.  It there a way to make this a single step versus two steps.  Or, to empty the Deleted Items mailbox automatically?  Schedules no longer work, so that’s not a solution.

I am having problems with my Exchange Server since upgrading to Yosemite.

I have my Mac Mail / Calendar / Contacts apps set up with my Exchange server, and am also running an iPhone 5 and iPad 4.

I have Outlook 2011 for Mac also installed on my Mac Book Air.

The issues I have are as follows:

My iPad and iPhone work fine. New contacts can be added / existing contacts changed as can appointments. These all sync fine with my exchange server, and update on all my clients & devices.

I can add new appointments via my Outlook 2011 for Mac client, but cannot change existing ones. I can neither add new, nor change existing, contacts through Outlook.

My Mac Mail app will add new appointments and sync to Exchange fine, but will not allow me to change existing calendar entries.

My Mac Contacts app will not allow me to add new, nor change existing, contacts.

Mail works fine across all platforms & clients

I have progressed this as far as I can with Fasthosts (my domain registrars and email hosting company) and they can find no issues their end.

They believe it to be an issue between the latest OS Yosemite and my exchange server.

It's very frustrating - anyone else out there have the same issue or is it just me!?

I use a custom PST file to store my sent and received messages once I have read them from the inbox or sent them from the sent folder.  When I move them from my inbox to the custom PST file for my received messages, all works as I expected and I see all the selected column headings.  When I move sent messages to my sent PST, only to "To" and "Subject" fields will be displayed and the date sent field will not show up.  It is there in the sent folder, but not in the custom folder.  Can anyone tell me why the date field seems to not display?  I think I have all the same fields selected and my old messages I brought over from my old computer seem to show it, just not the new ones I am moving now.

Thanks for any help!

Msg when turning on computer this morning, need to rebuild Outlook - done.  Still won't stay open.  Found  ~/Library/Preferences - com.microsoft shows five executable files with docouments under.  Which do I delete??  (OL.database_daemon.plist lockfile; OL database_utility.plist lockfile, etc)?? Help!
In for example the junk mail folder it shows how many massages are there.  Read or not.  Is it possible to show this also for some other selected folders?  I looked and found instructions for Outlook for PC, but not for Mac.
Quite often and not consistently for all unread emails, my emails show as read.  I don't have any other reason to believe I'm being hacked.   My settings for Mark mail as read are "Only when opened in a separate window".  Yet some messages received only minutes ago show as unread even though I have not read them.  the only email account in Outlook for Mac is my gmail account.  I've removed notifications on all other devices for email just in case and also deleted any 3rd party email apps from all devices to see if that was the culprit but the problem still persists.  Any ideas?

I believe that this addresses a problem I have been having as well.  How can I avoid meeting requests being sent to a POP account v. an exchange account?  It isn't clear to me from the invitation how (if at all) I am receiving things to the POP account or the Exchange account.  Is there something that the person setting up the meeting can do to insure that it is being sent to my exchange account?

Thank you.

I have just downloaded office 11 for mac, I am having the same issue but don't quite understand the solution. I have version 14.0.0. I've found the microsoft user data folder in documents, where do i drag it to and what to i do from there?

I have 2 accounts on my Outlook for Mac.  When replying in the second of the 2 accounts, my email and signature block always defaults to the other email account being used.  I have to manually fix it which is beyond annoying.

Any ideas on how to correct?  It is fine when sending a new email
