Over the past few days I've noticed that when I right click on an email, and click "move", then "choose folder" the name of the folder I am wanting to move the email to does not appear. Similarly, if the folder name is already in the drop down list, and I click move to....the email doesn't move; it stays in the same (original) folder. I have to close down my Outlook for Mac completely, and when it re-opens it allows me to move emails without any problems-I never had to close my email program before, in order to move emails....why now?

Solving one problem seems to have created a whole host of new ones. I finally solved my continued problem of being prompted for passwords, by going into Accounts-Advanced and unchecking the box "sync all imap folders every "X" minutes" but for some reason, it has caused problems (or is this just coincidence) for my ability to move emails from one folder to another.

Any suggestions as to why I am having this problem?

I have thousands of emails in various folders. I am using outlook 2011 for mac right now and want to switch to Apple mail. I have tried one or two methods to transfer like drag and drop and Imap, but was unsuccessful every time I tried them.

Are there any other solutions available for this problem?
Please help!

All,

I recently installed the Yosemite operating system onto my Mac. Following that, I could no longer restart Outlook (the application could no longer access the Office Database Index). I thus de- and re-installed the whole Office package, which now runs smoothly again.

Can somebody in the community please tell me how I can now restore my backed-up Outlook emails from time machine? I had a look online and found the advice to copy/paste my backed-up "Main Identity" from time machine into the newly installed office folder. However, this did not work.

Can somebody please help me out?

Thanks a lot

Timo

I recently tried to send an email from Outlook 2011 on my Mac that contained an attachment that was too large to send. This happened roughly two months ago and the email bounced back immediately.

Since then, I am regularly receiving error alerts stating the following

[ALERT] Message too large. http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?answer=8770

Error code 1026.

I am continually deleting these notifications and there are no email in my outbox.

How do I stop these error alerts?

for some unknownn rezone i can not rec. any mail at my in box now it stared on 1/9/15 and before that I was getting reload of e-mail from a month a go can i get some help.

I archived my emails into a .olm file and when I imported them back I can see the email content for the emails that were in the Inbox folders but the sent folder has only the subject line but no content. Is there a way to get this information?

When I open up my laptop in the morning, it takes Outlook 30-40 minutes (or more) to get any new mail.  At the bottom of the screen, it says Inbox: Determining Changes ... with a candy-strip bar that goes on for a really long time.  If I look on my iPhone, all the mail is already there, but with Outlook, I have to wait and wait and wait.  Eventually, it all comes in a flood.  And then, as long as I don't put my laptop to sleep, it seems to keep up on a normal schedule.

I have 3 iMap accounts (gmail), and one Exchange (Office 365) account.

I'm using a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.5 w/ 8gb of RAM.  Running Outlook for Mac v14.4.7 as part of Office for Mac 2011.

This problem has been going on for quite a while - I've just been tolerating it and am finally fed up enough to want to do something about it.

I am running Outlook 2011 and noticed today that my search is not pulling any email results dated newer than December 30, 2014.  It will pull calendar related items dated in 2015 but no emails.  I searched the internet and couldn't find any info.  I rebuilt my identity and also attempted to create a new identity which had the same issue.  My co-worker is not having the same issue, so I don't think it is server related.  Not sure what else I can try to attempt to fix this.

OSX 10.10.1

Office version 14.4.7

Split from this thread.

It typically is an outgoing server issue (or the settings for that
server) indeed.

I'm having that exact same issue.  It's not on the server side because everything from that end works.  It's not my connection or anti-virus - so is this just a massive problem with Outlook 2011?

At this point - I can't send email from within Outlook at all from ANY of my email accounts (Live, Hotmail, Gmail etc).

Thoughts?
