Well three things then if rebuilding the database doesn't work.
Reboot the Mac (to insure all related process are properly quit and restarted).

If that doesn't work, trash the database daemon preference files from ~/Library/Preferences (in your user account).
The name of the files start with com.microsoft

If that still doesn't work, you might have a very nasty corruption in the database and it might be time to think about restoring a backup… Do you make regular backups? Did you at least keep the "Backed-up" versions of your identity the last time you rebuilt? (located in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities).

Hi I'm probably in the 'nasty corruption' place but do not have backed up identities because I deleted them (thats a different story). I do have the patience to rebuild the database from scratch, but do not know how to even do that, because Outlook just will not open. Any suggestions will be helpful.

Hello I have this same Daemon/ crashing problem as of today and looked this thread up.

The above is no use at all to me. I'm on a macbook air 10.9.5

The reason is:

I can't find any files named: com.microsoft

There is no: /Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities that i can find..

Is there any other help you can suggest? Sorry i can't get rid of this annoying blue highlight..

How do I export the parameters (PSTs, Rules, Folders, accounts, etc.) of my Windows Outlook 2010 and import them into my Mac Outlook  2011?
I want to move all my Emails (Outlook 2011) from one Mac to a new one.  Anyone can help please?
How do I migrate from PC Outlook 2010 to Mac Outlook 2011? H ow do I export the parameters of my Windows Outlook 2010 and import them into my Mac Outlook  2011?

I have 2 users both using Mac Outlook 2011.  I have the tasks shared from the bosses computer and a windows office machine can open them just fine.  But on the assistant also using Mac Outlook 2011, she cannot open the tasks.  Just the inbox, calendar and contacts.  Why would there be an option in Mac Outlook to share the tasks if another mac cannot open them? Thanks.

I'm continually getting errors when I receive my email from my windstream.net account.

Sometimes my email comes in, and sometimes it doesn't. I don't understand what the problem is! I've tried resetting the email account, I've followed countless directions that I've seen with other posts, and I just can't seem to find the problem. I get different error numbers everytime the error occurs. Sometimes it is error #150, or #3170, and sometimes it has no number at all. I'm getting sick of hearing that little horn beep when the error occurs. It's driving me crazy! Sometimes it will tell me that Outlook cannot verify the server information, and sometimes it will say it just can't FIND the mail. UGH!

Can someone please offer me ANY useful information!?! PLEASE!?

I am trying to figure out why I am receiving meeting requests and cancellations for another user.  Previously, I had access to view the user's calendar, but I was never a delegate for the user.  The user has not been receiving meeting requests and instead I am receiving them.  I deleted the calendar from my view months ago, but this keeps happening and I am not sure how to fix it.  Any suggestions would be helpful!

So I created a "new identity" due to a constant error of reaching my maximized limit or something.  When I did, two things happened that i tried to follow up on my original question.  My "Notes" are gone, and some folders that I couldn't see even when I logged into my Hotmail on the internet were gone.  All other folders were.  I've read about POP and IMAP (don't quote me, I have no idea what either is) folders and that I couldn't use them or transfer them to the "hotmail server" where they'd show up wherever I used my hotmail, (my MAC, iPhone).  I can't see them on my Dell either, but in all of my inboxes it appears they're there - so that's good.  Please help, I've been trying to solve this for months.  Thanks in advance.

I can't seem to get emails that I've sent from my iPhone to show up on my Outlook for Mac mailbox on my iMac.  The Inbox emails are duplicated, but not the "Sent" emails, which are only on the iPhone.  I've fussed with the Settings on the iPhone, but I'm not sure what will do the trick.  Ditto for Contacts - can't seem to migrate my Outlook Contacts to iPhone and vice-versa.  Suggestions?
