I have previously used MS office for windows for many years, but have recently switched to MAC

With MS office for Mac 2011 i am unable copy any email so that i can then attach them to another email that i wish to send.

There is a function that allows forwarding an email as an attachment but this is not what i need.

If i right click to see local dialogue functions "copy" is not included, so i then go to Edit on the top toolbar, and there all the functions, Cut, Copy Paste. ect are not available either, becuase these options are in shadow not in bold.

I have also tried to down-load the MS office for MAC 2011 service pack 3 upgrade, just in case this would help, but after downloading the file my MAC tells me that Office 2011 is not installed on my MAC hard disk (which it definitely is)

Any idea's as to where my problem my lie please.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello, running outlook for mac 2011 and trying to accomplish this. I want to flag emails for followup, then move them out of my inbox and into various subfolders, and then go to one central location and see all of my flagged emails and also see what folder they now reside in (via column heading). I can do that if I go to my tasks folder but I obviously also see my tasks in there and not just my emails. Is there a way to do what I am trying?

Split from this thread.

With POP account, everything is downloaded off the server and stored on
your computer. It never syncs back to the server.
With IMAP account, everything is always kept in sync with the server,
including the read/replied etc status.

That's why your IMAP accounts get individual inbox, that mirror what's
going on on the server, whereas POP accounts are systematically
downloaded in the On My Computer section of the Mac.

When you created a new identity, it redownloaded whatever was not
deleted from the POP server, and resented the IMAP folders.
Everything else is not, and cannot be there. It's all in the previous
identity you were using.
A way around that is to go back to the previous identity, export
everything to a .olm archive and reimport the data in the new identity.

This is by far the best answer I've received and thank you.  I have one more request.  Can you step me through how to get my folders back, then can you step me though getting my folders being IMAP (which sounds like they're on the server) so I can view what I expect to see from any machine regardless of microsoft, apple, etc.  Also, when creating folders in the future, how do I create IMAP folders to be viewed on any machine as just mentioned?

Oh, and just so you know, it looks like all of the emails that were in the POP folders that I don't have any more are in my inbox.  Just not wanting to sort them all again as there were about 15 folders!

Again, thank you and look forward to your assistance!

Hi,

I lost all my emails in outlook on 24th Jan 2015 but I managed to rebuild database and change identity. When I opened the outlook, I could only find email messages dated before Sep 2013 and lost all messages in 2014-2015. The calendar is not updated too!

Does anyone know why is this happening? Where does the most recent identity gone to?

Please help!

Mel

Hello,

Outlook:2011 installed on a Macbook Pro, using one exchange account (Exchange 2010). Several months ago the user had a connectivity issue and I've added a second exchange account to test if it was an account issue. It wasn't, I removed the second account and the problem got solved later on. However, the dropdown for the "Send/Receive" Button still shows both accounts ready to be synced. I checked again and there is only the main user account in ToolsAccounts. How can I get rid of the entry for second account under "Send/Receive"? I've also checked the identities and removed all of them excecpt the main identity - no difference.

Cheers,

Martin

Can I use my Outlook for mac with iPad and iPhone?? Also want to sync calender, contacts and notes. Please help?
I have the latest version of Outlook 2011 running on my MacBook Pro, with Yosemite.  Whenever Outlook receives email, the program freezes and I have to Force Quit to do anything
I had to completely remove office 2011 from my macbook pro running os 10.7.5 because Outlook kept having to quit. I followed the instructions article ID 2398768 to completely uninstall. including moving the Microsoft User Data folder to the desktop. All data also saved via Time Machine. Outlook now works fine except i would like to recover all the stored messages, addresses etc. How can I get the old User Data Folder data back into Outlook?

I have no Outlook contacts in my computer.  I have tried to use time machine, but can't get the program to import.  Can anyone help?

Using Outlook for Mac 2011. Can't send or receive emails. Have checked settings for the POP account. Settings seem OK. I changed my password a while back-- if this has anything to do with the problem, I would like to know. My ISP is Charter Communications. Charter maintains it's an Outlook problem. When I open the program, there is an attempt to connect with Charter's server, but it times out. However, the email is accessible on the Charter site. Also I can receive and send from Apple's Mail program, but it's not my designated default mail program; Outlook is what I have always used.

QUESTION: If I delete my Outlook account and recreate it. will all my saved, categorized emails in folders in the side column be deleted as well?
