Guys,

I setup Outlook for Mac (2011) for a client and added a signature (.jpg) which is essentially her company logo etc. New email account is Microsoft Exchange account. Customer's device is a fairly new Macbook Pro.

When I sent a test message to my Hotmail a/c, everything looked great on Outlook.com. I also sent the email to my business email account and viewed the email in Outlook 2007 and everything looked great.

The problem occurs when the email is viewed on an iPhone or Android phone device. The signature appears ok but the email subject is appended with the CID:xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx string mentioned in the heading.

For testing, I decided to load up the same account and signature in her Mac Mail program and no issues at all. Email looked fine on all devices including iPhones and Android phones and the CID: string was not present. Problem is her Mac Mail program already has 3 personal email accounts in it so we were wanting to keep the business account separate in Outlook. Also, for exchange accounts, Outlook would be preferable to the Mac Mail program (although my dealings with Outlook for Mac 2011 over the years has proven to me it is far inferior to the Windows version, database is susceptible to corruption and less feature-rich etc).

I installed the latest update which I think was 14.7.

Can anything be done about this? I have Googled it for ages and there appears to be no documented solution or work-around.

I did find this : Web Link (view comments at bottom) which suggests I might be able to edit the com.microsoft.Outlook.plist file. Although, I am not really keen on the idea of setting up the signature as a url link because so many email hosts these days block links as they are perceived to be spam.

P.S. I checked in the settings in Outlook and confirmed that Outlook for Mac 2011 is setup to send emails in HTML mode.

I'd like to migrate:

WHAT: Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes (but NOT email, as I do not use Outlook for email)

FROM: Outlook 2007 on my PC

TO: Outlook 2011 on my Mac

I TRIED: exporting .PST from my PC/2007, then importing that .PST into my Mac/2011.

THE PROBLEMS: the Contacts on Mac do not retain a) their correct "modified dates" (they change to the import date/time), nor b) their Notes' text formatting (bold, italic, etc).

What do I do to solve those problems?

Thanks!

I have upgraded from Entourage 2008. In Entourage I had in the  folder column a "Folders on this Computer" at the top of the list. Below that I have an Inbox and I have 5-6 subfolders for mail from those I correspond with most. Below these is are Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted items. Below these are about 30 Folders used to categorize various correspondents. My issue is when I go to create a new folder I need to highlight an existing one. Highlighting the Inbox will create a subfolder along with the selected few subfolders right below Inbox; highlighting any of the 30 folders will only create a subfolder of one of them. How can I make a new full (not subfolder) folder and not have it placed within my Inbox?

Inbox

      Box 1

      Box 2

      Box 3

      etc

Drafts

Sent Items

Deleted Items

Alphabetized remaining 30 Folders where I wan to place the new folder.

Box 1

Box 2

etc

My email account now on new download of Outlook 14.4.7 won't open. When attempts to try again are made, new Accounts from same server appear (Server 1, Server 2, etc.) I receive message that I have exceeded the maximum number of connections from user+IP or Authentication Failed and to the checking my security settings.  I can't get ride of the excessive accounts (that I never asked for or wanted) and settings seems fine.  I also downloaded the software a second time. What's going on?

Recently we had a new employee join our company and we gave him a Macbook like he requested, in a Windows environment..... Right there, already a headache and a half...... We set him up on our Exchange server and his email and everything works just fine, but it seems we have run into two issues:

1. His account is delegated by another employee, specifically to his calendar. Whenever she makes a change on an event, the event turns purple on her side, and green on his side.  Outlook 2010 for Windows doesn't have a specific category set up for calendar events or edited events. On the Mac side, the changed events are marked as bright green which is for "My Contacts", doesn't make any sense.... How can we turn this off so the events do not change colors on either end? Here is what we have tried:

  • We added a different delegate with the same permissions and the same problem had occurred.
  • Really not sure on how else to troubleshoot this specific problem.

2. In addition to that problem, the client who received the new MacBook has been having problems syncing the calendar on his Outlook 2011 between our Exchange server, his iPhone and iPad and his delegate. Every event shows up on all other devices except his MacBook, it's very strange, it's usually the other way around. Emails, Contacts, etc. sync just fine, but the Calendar is not able to catch up. The MacBook calendar has most of the events, but select events are not showing, but they are seen everywhere else. Are we missing a setting that needs to be setup to get his MacBook to sync correctly or is there a deeper issue? Here is what we have tried:

  • Checked Sync Services to see if it was syncing to the correct areas. Everything seems to be in the right place. But I could be wrong.
  • Manually synced calendars, no changes, MacBook is still lacking newly added events.
  • Removed the account, rebooted, and added the account again, still not syncing fully.

If anyone has any idea what may be going on or any advice or troubleshooting scenarios that would be most helpful, thank you! And please don't tell me to go to another forum, already did that... Thanks!

Bought Office for mac last year. Loaded it up all working fine until last week. Outlook started to remove messages from the server. Got the ISP to restore the messages as soon as Outlook started to send and receive the messages were down loaded and removed from the server. The Outlook is configured as an imap account Yahoo is pop.

Dear community,

I want to add a new task directly on the "My Day" App of Outlook 2011, and thereby get the error message "Incorrect folder name".
But also find no way to specify a folder somewhere ..

... Any ideas?

greetings
Marco
