What does "create a new identity" mean?

by bookings (e.g. Deutsche Bahn) within the confirmation mail you get the booking-date as an .ics attachment.

In the past it was possible to double-click the .ics file and a calendar entry was opend, which could directly be saved into my Exchange calendar.

In the moment, that's not working. By double-clicking the .ics file, a new mail is opend having this .ics file as attachment.

Who could help?

bei Buchungen (wie z.B. Deutsche Bahn) erhält man in der Betätigungsmail eine Anlage mit dem Termin als .ics Datei.

Früher konnte ich einfach diese Datei doppelklicken, der Termin ging auf und lies sich in meinen Exchange Kalender speichern.

Das geht jetzt seit kurzem nicht mehr. Beim Doppelklick wird die Datei als Anlage in eine neue Mail gepackt.

Wer weiß hier Rat?

Dear helpdesk employee, 

I understood that since Apple decided not to support synchronization through Isync/ Itunes anymore, I am forced to synchronize though Hotmail calendar, contacts and tasks.

Please let me know how to transfer all my contacts to this program, so I can benefit the advantages from the Outlook for Mac 2011 I bought (appr 130 euros).

I tried uploading contacts, but hotmail only takes VCS files. Exporting to text did not give me the correct contacts.

I did not even start to try importing my calendar, because here the same bottleneck occurs, namely that I can not transform the OLM files to an appropriate format which I can upload.

I have calles Apple support helpdesk, visited the Imac store where I bought the program, called the Microsoft helpdesk who was not allowed to help me because synchronization was not in the help-package.

I'm using Outlook 2011 for Mac, v14.4.8. One of my primary email accounts is a Gmail account. Periodically, (it happened today), I will see an email message in my Gmail account online (viewed through a browser), but it won't ever show up in my Outlook inbox. This makes no sense to me as I thought with IMAP, the two inboxes would be synchronized to always be identical.

To be more specific, I noticed the email message on my iPhone (in the Gmail inbox there). I wanted to type a longer response than was practical on my iPhone, so I went to Outook. But the message wasn't there. I went to Gmail through my browser and there sits the message in my inbox. I replied to it from my browser, and my reply shows up in sent mail in Outlook, but still not the original message.

Bizarre.

Any ideas?

I just upgraded to Office 2011 thinking that this would resolve the problem. It did not - it's exactly the same in 2011.  Now on top of that, when I open Outlook it doesn't open completely and the layout is totally unelectable.  The menus work so I could set up the account.

We have a mixed environment of Office 365 PC and Office 2011 MAC users, when we received large file attachments on the PC's they download in a timely fashion but the MAC users have to wait ages. Often hours and often they never download. Is this a known problem? why would the MAC users be so slow compares to the PC users? They are on the same network and all have gigabit Ethernet connections.

I have previously posted this on the Office 365 forum and they have requested I post this here instead.

Also, is there a new version of the Office 365 software due for the MAC anytime soon?

I have16 different calendars, including backups, copies and extracts. I need to clean up and eliminate some of these calendars.

But first, how could I find the total number of events in each calendar?
