Mailing lists that have multiple from names but only one address have wrong names shown.

Example - Apache JIRA notifications

When you view message source, it says, for example:

From: "Hive QA (JIRA)" <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

Whereas the message everywhere would show e.g. "Andrey Stepachev (JIRA)", which is a From name from some other message sent by the same address.

Moreover, the name is not even a contact - it changes randomly. About half (or significant fraction, anyway) of the messages have correct name shown, and half have random incorrect name drawn from the set of all names used by this sender.

I have the opposite problem.  No emails in my sbcglobal account that haven't been moved to folders show up in outlook.

Since updating Outlook for Mac 2011 to the latest version, 14.4.8, the dialogue box for "Tools' does appear when selected, but is completely blank.

It is therefore not possible to change any settings on any of the accounts.

Has anyone a solution for this, other than delete and reinstall?

5 days ago I suddenly lost the ability to see the Inbox on Outlook 2011 for Mac.  I still can see the folders and sent items.  I rebuilt the identity, deleted the account, recreated the account and no luck.

I can send emails to other accounts and this account

I can see those emails on the servier but they don't synch to Outlook

Any more ideas?

Outlook has been acting very strangely since gmail notified me that it had prevented someone logging into my gmail account this afternoon. I reset my google password, and that's when the Outlook problems started. I can't recount or even remember all the steps I took to try to resolve them. For a while I could download email from gmail using POP but not send email from Outlook via my gmail POP server. (Btw I'm using a desktop and 10.7.5.) Eventually I changed the gmail security settings to enable basic security. It was at that point I believe that I was able to send messages, but since then I cannot download new mail from gmail. Instead, when I click Send/Receive, gmail downloads about 200 or 300 old messages at a time, starting (I think) with the oldest messages I have in my gmail account, anyway they're from 2007 and they are downloading in order of date. And it doesn't download them into "On my computer" in my inbox, but into a new subdivision of my inbox called "Gmail", presumably corresponding to a new account I created in Outlook today called "Gmail" after deleting the previous account (I thought that by starting from scratch I might be able to get things working properly). Btw I tried to create two other outgoing POP accounts using my ISP's outgoing server about a week ago, but we never managed to deal with verification issues, they never worked, but even after I deleted those accounts Outlook still tried to send mail through those (apparently non-existent) accounts - until this afternoon, after I deleted all google keychains in my Keychain access app (at least I think there may have been a connection with that, but as I said I tried so many different things relating to the Outlook error message I was getting that it may have been something else) There are currently no Google account keychains in that app.

What the heck is going on - anyone have an idea?

Does not work Microsoft tech could not solve

Hi there,

I use Outlook 2011 on OSX  10.9.5

Outlook version is 14.4.8 (150116).  I use this with an office365.com Exchange account.  Until recently everything worked fine.

As of yesterday, my "send" button is missing from either new emails or reply-to mails.  There is only a "save" in in the toolbar.  I must have done something to break this, but have no idea what.

I can receive mails just fine, and see my entire mail folder structure.  Accessing the account from Outlook webmail on Office365.com works fine; I can send mails from there.  The same for Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1 - sending mails works fine.  When I save a mail as a draft under Outlook 2011, it will also show up in the "Drafts" folder on both Office365.com and outlook 2013.

I've tried the following:

- customize toolbar, including reset to default

- log out of my OSX account and back in again, including rebooting

- remove and re-create my Outlook account in Outlook 2011

- delete my Outlook user profile in $HOME/Documents/Microsoft User Data/

This version of OSX does not have the "chiclet" at the top right of windows, so I cannot try to expand the toolbar as is often recommended.

I see no error messages, no additional options for account configuration, nothing - can someone please help me with this?

I have my GoDaddy email set up on my IMac in Outlook 2011. I cannot delete folders in Outlook. I cannot drag the folder to the trash or option click and delete. I can manage my folders in webmail but not Outlook. Also, when I try to rename a folder when I can select a folder but it deselects before I can type the name. I have rebuilt my Outlook data. Anyone have a solution?
I had a user who asked me for some help. His office for Mac 2011 kept crashing in outlook when he was typing. I googled the problem and it said to drag his identity to his desktop and let it recreate by getting new messages from out exchange server. That worked great but the problem is he also had a "pst" local folder and I do not know where or how to restore this from his old identity. Can anyone help?
