Question about Outlook Express

Hi everyone,

Thank you in advance for any help you'll be able to provide.

So, I screwed up by not creating contacts from the people that I've dealt with over the past couple of years and now I'd like to build my contacts up by pulling email addresses and any other information from my sent emails and my inbox so that at the very least, I have something to start with. Is there a way to do that other than the painfully slow process of going through every one and manually typing the info in? I'm happy to use third party software too if needed but I'm hoping that I can do this all through Outlook somehow. I have Outlook 2011 for Mac.

Do you know how to synchronise calendar and contact from Outlook 2011 for Mac with a smartphone under Jelly Bean. No problem for Ical and Calendar but when i try to export data from Outlook , it's always in the olm format , which is not recognize by Ical. I also use SyncMate for android: the problem is the same: the software not recognize the olm format. The problem exist also when i try to use a Google calendar to import data from Outlook

I have a Macbook running OS X Yosemite.

I want to sync my mail, my calendar , my contacts, my notes with my live.com(now outlook.com) account.

I have Outlook 2011 for Mac and I have the standard Apple offerings - Ical, Reminders, Notes, Mail.

I don't care which set of tools I use - I am comfortable with either set. I just want to be able to sync this information.

I have managed to sync mail with outlook 2011, but the rest remains a mystery.

If I had my choice I'd probably opt for Outlook.

First of all I am using Outlook for Mac 2011 and the version is 14.4.8. This is the most up to date version at this time (27/03/2015)

The issue is that the Inbox and sent items folder keep syncing and downloading, this issue has gone on for about 56 Hours

It is a relatively large inbox and sent folder but it shouldn't take this long.

when I open the progress window it has a solid blue bar and says downloading (for the inbox and the send). And the sync button is greyed out and the X icon on the download progress bar doesn't work either so I can't close it.

Also the attachments sometimes keep downloading (goes from 0 to 20 and then starts again) I read on another question that clearing the cache helps but that has only temporarily helped (I restarted the computer and outlook) and it started downloading them again  

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

User has just received a new Mac with Office 2011.  We connect with Exchange 2010.  She is able to receive mail, but not send mail.  When she sends mail, it goes to her Drafts folder instead of being sent out.  Then she gets the following error:  Could not synchronize record:  SubjectLineOfEmail to Exchange server: XXXXX.  She is able to send mail via OWA without issue and had no problems sending mail from Outlook 2010/Exchange 2010 on her PC.  

She has right clicked on the folder that was having issues (my Drafts folder), selected "Properties" and under "General" clicking "Empty Cache".  Nothing happened when she performed this action.  

Also had her go to Finder, search on the title of the meetings or mails that are in the error messages and delete the files in question. She has tried to do a few at a time and it does not go away.

I have seen suggestions to delete and recreate the Identity, but then see other posts where this does not help.  

I appreciate your help.

Outlook for mac was install and successfully ran for about a month until suddenly it has started to drop connection to the server after about 10 seconds or it just continually asks for a password. Can anyone help please

I am using Outlook 2011 for mac version 14.4.7 in mac OS 10.9

my outlook main identity size is around 40GB.

the question which i wanted to ask, in some other reason i need to re-instal OS to my macbook pro and after installation i will install Office again.

if I copy my main identity folder to external hardisk and after re-installation paste back to same location would be enough to run Outlook with all my folders, rules, address as previous ?

or I should export all data to external hard disk and after installation import back trough "file" menu import&export commands ?

which way would be more appropriate and safe to do so ?

I have a strange situation where if I open a pst file on windows outlook, all the emails display correctly.

If I import the same pst file into mac 2011 or mac office365 then whilst all emails appear in the list i.e. email headers are correct, the body of some emails do not display correctly.  Most commonly the body is completely empty, or outlook seems to be attempting to display a html email body as plain text, but without the html tags displaying or being processed.  A fair bit of the text is lost as well.

All attachments show and work correctly.

Outlook 2011 and 365 display emails slightly differently but both are as good as useless.

Any ideas?

Can anyone lead me to the correct way to setup outlook.com hotmail account in mac outlook 2013 for exchange, not POP!! it keeps changing itself to pop when i try imap even though it applies setting for imap servers, it downloads all mails and doesnt sync, i dont want this type of setup as i read my email in multiple clients...
