I am having issue on server rule on my Mac Outlook 2011. The rule shows (error) and I can no longer delete nor edit. I receive error message when I try to edit the rule:

"This rule is defined to run only in Outlook for Windows. To view or edit this rule, use Outlook for Windows."

Delete (minus) is grayed out. The fact that I never create any rules in Outlook for Windows confuse me when I see the above error message. This is for my company account and I only use Mac for all email activities since day 1. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Tom

I have recently been trying to simplify a task of forwarding emails to colleagues by using a mail rule to autoforward to a select list of people.

Unfortunately it seems that the rule insists on running 3 times so the recipients receive 3 identical forwards.

I initially tried creating a rule where each of the forwarding recipient emails was listed (Outlook 2011 doesn't like having multiple addresses in one forward rule task and won't accept a mail group). Then I decided to forward it to an email address which is in itself just a forwarding email setup on my domain. The same thing happens every time... it performs the rule 3 times.

Any thoughts on what might be going on here?

I signed up for monthly meeting notices in Outlook Calendar years ago but am no longer interested in them. How to cancel the pop ups permanently?

thank you

Hi there!

Using Outlook 2011 for Mac and one thing that is driving me a little bananas that I am not sure how to fix is that if I click and drag an attachment from one email into another, it --oftentimes-- appends the file name of that attachment by adding numbers onto the end of it...

Does anyone know how I might fix this?  I went through all of Outlook's preferences and all of my system preferences, as well. I believe it's related to the Outlook Temp folder.  Is there a way to change the settings on the temp folder such that when you drag a file from one email onto another that it doesn't treat it as a brand new file (thus having to re-name it so that there aren't two files with the same exact name in the folder itself)?  Hopefully that makes sense... here's a screen-cap of my temp folder to kind of help show what's happening:

Thanks!

Running Outlook for Mac 2011 - v.14.4.9 on a MacBook running Yosemite v.10.10.3

Occasionally I find that messages in my InBox disappear. They've been in that box for a few hours or a few days, and they just disappear. I can't find them elsewhere. Rules don't seem to be involved. Other messages remain there.

The accounts that feed into my mail are imap accounts.

What can I do to stop this disappearing act? Do I have to create a new identity? If so, what do I do with the half dozen older ones I've accumulated by now?

Thanks in advance,

Wendy

does anyone know how o change the default colour of a calendar & appointments either mine or shared with our having to choose a category?

I've received a number of Event invitations lately and they appear in my Outlook 2011 (14.4.49) but I cannot open them to view the details etc.

If I double click to open them like I normally would nothing happens.

I checked the Console application and found the following each time I tried to open one of these - anyone else experiencing this or know of a solution?

I'm using Outlook with Exchange Server if that helps.

So, I've failed to get through to Microsoft support and their chat is "temporarily unavailable". Can anyone help me with this (either to uninstall the update or get it to work right)?

Specifically, I got a notice today to install a critical update for Office for Mac 2011. After I installed it Outlook keeps popping up a box that says "Microsoft Outlook must be closed because an error occurred. Any unsaved work may be lost."

This happens every, oh, two minutes or so...

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Chris

Hi Folks,

I've been successfully access 4 gmail accounts via Outlook for some time. Recently however, I keep getting those annoying bouncy pop ups with the error in the attached picture--for each of my accounts. The weird thing is nothing has been interrupted with sending or receiving emails. Everything works perfectly fine except I'm about to launch my laptop into the creek because a notice every 45 seconds about failed authentication is pushing me to the edge. I'm running Outlook for Mac 2011 version 14.4.8. I've tried re-entering my un/pw and nothing changed. Anyone? Any ideas? Please & thank you!

Just upgraded to v15.6 for Mac. (Still not sure it's an upgrade). Does anyone know where Outlook keeps its data files in this version? I want to make sure my backup software is picking them up.
